Hsp60 in embryonic and adult submandibular salivary gland: quantitative distribution patterns in normal tissue and comparison with benign and maligna…
2019
Introduction: Heat Shock Protein 60 (Hsp60) is a member of the chaperoning system that assists protein folding inside mitochondria and plays other roles beyond these organelles. It is implicated in the carcinogenic processes in various types of cancer. In human salivary glands, Hsp60 has not yet been measured or mapped in detail and its role in gland development and functioning is virtually unknown. Consequently, its potential as biomarker for gland diseases, including malignancies cannot be assessed. The S-100 protein, a known marker for schwannomas, has been found also in myoepithelial-cell carcinomas of the salivary glands. Here, we present our initial findings on the anatomic-histologic…
Mapping the scientific research on wine and health (2001-2011)
2013
[EN] There have been a substantial number of studies suggesting possible health benefits from polyphenols in wine, especially red wine. These hypothetical effects, in addition to those of alcohol, are attributed by many to antioxidant and antiinflammatory effects of the polyphenols. The aim of this paper was to map the scientific research on wine and health by using bibliographic analyses of papers published during the period 2002−2011. Papers were published in 535 different journals and in 106 different subject categories, the most productive journals being the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Food Chemistry and Molecular Nutrition, and Food Research, and the most productive sub…
Activités cytotoxiques et pro-oxydantes d'acides gras à très longue chaîne sur des oligodendrocytes murins sauvages et déficients en Abcd1 et Acox1 :…
2010
X-ALD and P-NALD are two rare, peroxisomal metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases. ABCD1 and ACOX1 are known to be responsible for X-ALD and P-NALD, respectively. The actively demyelinating lesions in CNS, exhibited signs of oxidative stress and cell death. The accumulation of VLCFA in plasma and tissue is the biochemical common hallmark to both diseases. First, we characterized a murine oligodendrocytes cell line 158N to use it as a model. This 158N cell line which has characteristics of mature oligodendrocytes (expression of myelin proteins MOG, MBP, PLP), has also functional peroxisomes with Abcd1 and Acox1 proteins. Then, we studied the cytotoxic and pro-oxidative effects of VLCFA (C2…
Recent changes in measured wind in the NE Atlantic and variability of correlation with NAO
2010
The paper deals with wind measurements, recorded since the 1950s, at twelve meteorological stations along a transect near the westernmost European border, between 64° and 44° N. Extreme wind speed tends to decrease sharply near the northern boundary (at Reykjavick), near the middle of the study area (at Shannon and Valentia) and near the southern boundary (at Brest and Cap Ferret), to increase at Thorshavn, with less significant trends at the other stations. Average wind speeds confirm the above tendencies, with an additional increasing speed at Lerwick, Kirkwall, Malin Head, Belle-Ile and Cap Ferret. To compare changes in wind activity, the data have been subdivided into three periods: unt…

Research on regular priories, monastic and canonic in the formes dioceses of Chalon and Mâcon from the 10th to the 14th centuries
2013
The study presented here is the result from an inventory of the priories in the former dioceses of Chalon and Macon, closely dependent on the metropolis of Lyon .This territory corresponds to the main roads of the former realm of Burgundy. Among the 183 priories which have been retained, only 69 depended on Cluny, all the others belonged to the other monastic or canonic families of St Augustine’s order. The majority of these priories was mentioned for the first time by sources from late ninth and beginning of tenth century. The data collected have allowed to draw a map of the implanted sites in the form of a poster attached to the thesis and an index of the sources which are, for the most pa…
Appearance and consolidation of a nationalist and progressive party in Spain : the case of Chunta Aragonesista in Aragon (from 1986 to 2012)
2012
The research presented in this thesis deals with the study of the contemporary Iberian nationalism which has influenced the territorial and national questions of Spain. Aragon, despite being a crossroad territory between France, Catalonia, Valencia, Castile and the Basque-Navarrese region, is often missing from this discussion. From a geopolitical point of view, Aragon appears to be like a “buffer” territory between central Spain and its borders. Moreover, due to these characteristics, Aragon has no two-party system PSOE/PP as is the case in Spain’s interior regions, but it also doesn’t have the hegemonic role of a NSWP (Non State-wide Parties), which defends a non-Spanish nationalism. What…
The political aspirations of the press of the Germans evicted from Silesia : as seen in the case of the Grafschafter Bote
2012
The integration process was very difficult for the millions of Germans evicted from the eastern territories at the end of WWII. The numerous newspapers that they published in FRG testify to their unique identity. This sector of the press reflects a large social group. One can find there the integration problems as well as the political claims of the evicted Germans. The Grafschafter Bote is a newspaper aimed at the Germans who were evicted from the County of Glatz (pol. Ziemia Kłodzka) in Silesia. It is an independent newspaper representing the most important associations and it has been published continually since 1950. The study of its content allows a better understanding of the evicted …
Etude des propriétés de coordination de nouveaux ligands macrocycliques vis-à-vis de cations métalliques en vue de l'utilisation de leurs complexes p…
2011
Noninvasive medical imaging techniques such as single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) or positron emission tomography (PET), are valuable tools for the development and validation of new therapeutic molecules. That approach requires the conjugation of a radioactive source emitting either y-rays or positrons with a biological tracer (e.g. DOTATOC). Among the potentially useful radionuclides available, 111In3+ (SPECT), 64Cu2+, and 68Ga3+ (PET) have attracted increasing attention over the last years for medical applications. To minimize the in vivo release of the radioactive cation by transmetalation or transchelation with biological ligands, it is essential to trap selectively the …
Une architecture générique de Systèmes de recommandation de combinaison d'items : application au domaine du tourisme
2011
This thesis gives a generalization of the recommendation principle of recommender systems. Instead of considering a recommendation as an item, it is considered as a combination of several items following a given pattern. A recommendation of a unique item is then a particular case of this type of recommendation. The proposed recommender system framework is based on an architecture derived from work in adaptive hypermedia systems. Three layers are defined: a semantic layer, a user layer and an intelligence layer. The semantic layer consists of two sub-layers, a sub-layer modeling the content according to the general knowledge of the domain and a sub-layer modeling the content according to the…
