In recent years there has been increasing interest in the environmental impacts of aviation, and some airlines have begun to address this issue more seriously. Interspecific interactions have several evolutionary consequences: for example, two species may compete, hybridize, or behave aggressively towards each other, or there may be predator–prey interactions. One consequence of these interactions is the evolution of premating reproductive isolation between the two species. The most obvious interspecific interaction, which has an effect on reproductive isolation, is the avoidance of hybridization, or, in other words, the reinforcement process. This dissertation consists of introduction chapter and five empirical studies on European intellectual property rights institutions. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 are micro-level studies and the perspective shifts to macro-level in Chapters 5 and 6. Chapters 2, 3, 5 and 6 analyze two-tiered patent systems and Chapter 4 focuses on design rights. Chapter 2 analyzes the choice between patent and utility model protection among German firms. The results indicate that larger firms are more likely to use both protection methods and that a short life cycle of products and services is associated with an increased likelihood to use utility models. Management Practices and Allocation of Employment: Evidence from Finnish Manufacturing

We analyse variation in the management practices across countries and across regions within a country. For cross-country comparisons we use the Finnish Management and Organizational Practices Survey (FMOP) to calculate a management score for Finnish manufacturing that is compared to corresponding measures obtained from similar data in the US and Germany. Scores measured by unweighted averages of the establishments in these countries show that Finland is only slightly behind the US and on par with those of Germany. Tutkin terapeuttista muutosta haitallisesta kilpailujännityksestä kärsivällä urheilijalla kognitiivis­-konstruktivistisessa lyhytterapiassa. Tutkimuksessani keskityn kilpailujännitykseen ja siinä tapahtuvaan muutokseen. Lisäksi tutkin urheilijan suhdetta itseen ja muihin, lähinnä valmentajaan, seka näissä suhteissa tapahtuvia muutoksia. Tutkimusaineistoni koostuu seitsemästätoista litteroidusta terapiaistunnosta sekä urheilijan ja valmentajan omista arvioinneista. Apuna olivat myös terapeutin omat muistiinpanot.
