Analytic Continuation of the Kite Family

2019

We consider results for the master integrals of the kite family, given in terms of ELi-functions which are power series in the nome q of an elliptic curve. The analytic continuation of these results beyond the Euclidean region is reduced to the analytic continuation of the two period integrals which define q. We discuss the solution to the latter problem from the perspective of the Picard–Lefschetz formula.

Method Framework for Developing Enterprise Architecture Security Principles

2019

Organizations need to consider many facets of information security in their daily operations – among others, the rapidly increasing use of IT, emerging technologies and digitalization of organizations’ core resources provoke new threats that can be difficult to anticipate. It has been argued that the security and privacy considerations should be embedded in all the areas of organizational activities instead of only relying technical security mechanisms provided by the underlying systems and software. Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) offers a holistic approach for managing different dimensions of an organization, and can be conceived as a coherent and consistent set of principles tha…

SrTiO 3 -based perovskites: Preparation, characterization and photocatalytic activity in gas–solid regime under simulated solar irradiation

2015

Strontium titanate-based perovskites have been prepared in the presence of Y and Co with the aim to substitute Sr and Ti, respectively, in the ST crystalline structure. The obtained samples have been characterized by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, FE-SEM, XPS and tested as photocatalysts in two gas-solid regime reactions: (i) 2-propanol complete mineralization and (ii) propene partial oxidation, using a system simulating solar irradiation. All the tested samples resulted active as photocatalysts but with significant differences. The lattice substitution of Sr by Y displays a beneficial effect on the 2-propanol photodegradation. Conversely, the partial presence of cobalt on the ST surface, as Co-o…

Calculations of Perovskite Surface Relaxation

2000

AbstractThe (100) and (110) surface relaxations are calculated for SrTiO3 and BaTiO3 perovskite thin films by means of a semi-empirical shell model (SM) for different surface terminations. Our SM results for the (100) surface structure are in good agreement with our present ab initio Hartree-Fock calculations with electron correlation corrections, previous ab initio pseudopotential calculationsand LEED experiments. The surface energy for the Ba-, Sr-, TiO- terminated (110) surfaces is found much larger than that for the (100) one. In contrast, the surface energy for the asymmetric O-termination, where outermost O atoms are strongly on-plane displaced, is the lowest for all (110) termination…

On Musical Identities, Social Pharmacology, and Intervention Timing in Music Therapy

2017

How do antidepressants or recreational drugs influence the music experience in the context of therapy or during music performance and listening? Using drugs to enhance performance we can describe a complementary interaction between lifestyle, personal identity and drugs, influencing musical identities in creative processes. Treating depressed clients with individual psychodynamic music therapy (MT) worked well with those also taking anti-depressants, but also initiated a process in which the need for medication started to decrease. While antidepressants may help to keep anxiety, energy loss and rumination within limits, MT induces a process in which emotional limitations are likely to becom…

The effect of resonance frequency breathing when used as a preparatory exercise in music psychotherapy : A single-case experimental study of a client…

2017

This study aimed at evaluating the possible benefits of starting Integrative Improvisational Music Therapy (IIMT) sessions with 10 min of Resonance Frequency Breathing (RFB), a type of slow breathing known to be beneficial for stress reduction and emotional regulation. A client diagnosed with anxiety disorder and social phobia attended 12 IIMT sessions. Using an alternating treatments design, RFB was systematically alternated with a control intervention (vibroacoustic therapy, VAT). Therapy processes were assessed through the Session Evaluation Questionnaire (SEQ) and the continuous measurement of heart rate variability (HRV), a biomarker of autonomic nervous system response. RFB was consis…

Theoretical Perspectives and Therapeutic Approaches in Music Therapy with Families

2021

Music therapists have described the importance of working collaboratively with family members in various populations throughout the history of the profession. Despite the growing amount of literature, not enough is known regarding the scope of theoretical perspectives and therapeutic approaches that guide family centered music therapy. The aim of this international survey study was to better understand the professional perspectives and approaches of music therapists who work with families around the world. This article presents the results of the survey where a total of 125 responses were analysed. Participants’ responses indicated that music therapy with families is well established as an …

Exploring the benefits of music therapy on patients diagnosed with schizophrenia in a Turkish university hospital

2016

Although music therapy is an evidence-based and effective therapy method in clinical psychiatric settings all around the world, the literature on music therapy use in Turkish clinical settings is extremely limited. This study aims to show the clinical benefits of music therapy in a Turkish university hospital, to enable further research and promote the recognition of music therapy as a valid clinical method in this country. A study was conducted within a clinical setting with 6 patients currently under standard care due to diagnoses of schizophrenia or schizophrenia-like disorders by the hospital staff. The participants attended 20 music therapy sessions, which met twice a week, with pre-po…
