Kuljit kanssani syvimpiin vesiin : tapaustutkimus depressioasiakkaan psykodynaamisen musiikkiterapiaprosessin merkittävistä tekijöistä

2011

Lisäksi tarkasteltiin terapeutin musiikillisten interventioiden roolia terapeuttisessa prosessissa. Työssä kuvataan terapiapros…

Peak oxygen uptake cut-points to identify children at increased cardiometabolic risk - The PANIC Study.

2019

We aimed to develop cut -points for directly measured peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak ) to identify boys and girls at increased cardiometabolic risk using different scaling methods to control for body size and composition. Altogether 352 children (186 boys, 166 girls) aged 9 – 11 years were included in the analyses. We measured VO2peak directly during a maximal cycle ergometer exercise test and lean body mass (LM) by bioelectrical impedance. We computed a sex - and age -specific cardiometabolic risk score (CRS) by summing important cardiometabolic risk factors and defined increased cardiometabolic risk as >1 standard deviation above the mean of CRS. Receiver operating characteristics curves wer…

Progress through the Early Stages of Assimilation in Play Therapy with a Traumatized Six-Year-Old Girl

2021

We applied the assimilation of problematic experiences sequence (APES) to a six-year-old girl’s processing of traumatic experiences involving violence and death in play therapy. We analyzed the post-session notes from the first 34 sessions of a much longer treatment, during which the girl repeatedly enacted a drama we called the cottage play, involving characters assumed by the child and characters assigned to the therapist. We distinguished four phases based on changes in play themes. In phase 1, the girl expressed her need for safety in response to an overwhelming internal threat (APES stage 0, warded off/dissociated). In phase 2, she worked to escape and avoid the threat, referenced in t…

Breathing woodwinds : music therapy for asthma and COPD rehabilitation

2014

Filhan(2010) arvion mukaan hengityssairaudet koskettavat vuosittain miljoonaa suomalaista. Tutkimus tarjoaa vaihtoehdon potilaan omaa vastuuta korostavaan kuntoutukseen. Kahdentoista viikon tuloksissa kvalitatiivinen materiaali antoi tuloksia. PEF lukemat pysyivät samoina, m…

Physical activity and risk of venous thromboembolism: systematic review and meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies

2019

The inverse association between physical activity and arterial thrombotic disease is well established. Evidence on the association between physical activity and venous thromboembolism (VTE) is divergent. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of published observational prospective cohort studies evaluating the associations of physical activity with VTE risk. MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science, and manual search of relevant bibliographies were systematically searched until 26 February 2019. Extracted relative risks (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the maximum versus minimal amount of physical activity groups were pooled using random effects meta-analysis. Twelve article…

Enhancing improvisational music therapy through the addition of resonance frequency breathing : Common findings of three single-case experimental stu…

2018

One core characteristic of active music therapy is the facilitation of emotional expression through the creation of music improvisations. In an attempt to further develop this approach, we created an enhanced form of integrative improvisational music therapy by including 10 minutes of resonance frequency breathing (RFB) at the beginning of the sessions. RFB is a type of slowbreathing known for its ability to reduce stress and support emotional regulation. This paper summarizes the common findings of three single-case experimental studies and introduces a provisional model to explain the observed effects of RFB. During the breathing itself, all three clients (two of them healthy and one diag…
