Nykyinen käsitys vieraiden kielten opettamisesta Suomessa painottaa kielen lisäksi myös kohdekulttuurin tuntemusta. Kielen opetuksessa tulisi huomioida sen kulttuurinen konteksti. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kartoittaa suomalaisten lukiolaisten kokemuksia ulkomaisesta ystävyyskoulutoiminnasta. Erityisen kiinnostuksen kohteena olivat lukiolaisten motiivit osallistua projektiin, heidän näkemyksensä projektin suunnittelusta ja toteutuksesta, sekä heidän kokemuksensa projektin vaikutuksista kulttuurienväliseen oppimiseen ja kielitaitoon. The role of informal learning in adults' literacy proficiency

This study used the Programme for International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) dataset to examine informal literacy learning’s effects on adults’ literacy proficiency. Also, the factors associated with informal literacy learning at and outside of work were studied. The study participants were Nordic adults aged 35–65 years. The statistical method was regression analysis, and the results indicate that informal literacy activities at work are associated primarily with occupation, and informal literacy activities outside of work with education, parents’ education and gender. Tämä työn tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten Eurooppalaisen viitekehyksen sekä käytössä olevan opetussuunnitelman asettamat suullisen kielitaidon tavoitteet ja vaatimukset täyttyvät kahdessa vieraankielen A2-oppimäärän kirjasarjassa. Tutkimuksen kohteeksi valikoitui vuonna 2014 julkaistut kaksi saman kustantajan kirjasarjaa – saksankielinen Mega ja ruotsinkielinen Skoj. Workplace-based assessment of communication skills: A pilot project addressing feasibility, acceptance and reliability

Background: Imparting communication skills has been given great importance in medical curricula. In addition to standardized assessments, students should communicate with real patients in actual clinical situations during workplace-based assessments and receive structured feedback on their performance. The aim of this project was to pilot a formative testing method for workplace-based assessment.
