The research topic of this dissertation is the press of the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP) from the March revolution of 1917 in Russia to the end of the Finnish Civil War in the spring of 1918. Under research are 16 party papers, which, however, were not owned by the party, and therefore neither under its guidance nor control. The papers' owners, local working class organizations, elected the editors-in-chief, who often held central posts in the party. In this way they could use their relatively independent positions to further their political views in their editorials. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää esimies-alaissuhteen laadun vaikutusta työntekijöiden ympäristöaloitteiden tekoon ja toisaalta aloitteiden toteuttamiseen yrityksessä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin ympäristöasioiden hoitoon liittyvistä epäkohdista raportoimista ja proaktiivisuuden tutkimuskenttään kuuluvaa ilmiötä vaikenemisesta. Lisätäksemme ymmärrystä johtajuuden vaikutusmekanismeista aloiteprosessin eri vaiheissa kyselytutkimuksessa mitattiin myös yrityksen aloitteellisuutta tukevaa ilmapiiriä. Pētniecības darbs ‘‘Izgulējumu profilakse internās aprūpes nodaļā’’ tika veikts ar mērķi noskaidrot vai māsas pielieto profilakses pasākumus, lai samazinātu izgulējumu rašanos riskus. Pētniecības uzdevums bija apkopot un analizēt zinātnisko literatūru un citus informācijas avotus par izgulējumiem un to profilaksi, izstrādāt pētniecības instrumentu-anketu, anketēt internās aprūpes māsas, apkopot un analizēt pētījuma iegūtos rezultātus, izstrādāt secinājumus. An organism's energy budget is strongly related to resource consumption, performance, and fitness. Hence, understanding the evolution of key energetic traits, such as basal metabolic rate (BMR), in natural populations is central for understanding life-history evolution and ecological processes. Here we used quantitative genetic analyses to study evolutionary potential of BMR in two insular populations of the house sparrow (Passer domesticus). We obtained measurements of BMR and body mass (Mb) from 911 house sparrows on the islands of Leka and Vega along the coast of Norway. Limited resources force individuals to trade-off between life-history traits. A vast diversity of life-history strategies, which optimally combine life history traits, can be found. Knowledge of the genetic basis of this phenotypic variation is key to understanding evolutionary processes. I approached life-history evolution by estimating quantitative genetic parameters for a set of life-history traits in the bank vole (Myodes glareolus). The work is based on a laboratory-kept colony subjected to two-way selection for litter size (High- (H) and Low- (L) lines). There are a few antecedents for explaining customer loyalty in marketing literature, and researchers have discussed the consequences of loyalty.
