Tutkielma on käsiteanalyysi ryhmäsidonnaisista oikeuksista. Se on myös analyysi Will Kymlickan monikulttuurisuusteoriasta teoksen Multicultural Citizenship pohjalta. Tutkielmassa nähdään ryhmäsidonnaisten oikeuksien käsite vahvasti Kymlickan muotoilemana, jolloin käsitteen analyysi pohjautuu pääasiassa Kymlickan teoriaan. Huomioin kuitenkin sen liitokset muihin teoreetikkoihin ja sellaisiin lähikäsitteisiin kuten ryhmäoikeudet ja vähemmistöoikeudet. Ryhmäsidonnaiset oikeudet Kymlickan teoriassa nähdään tutkielmassa periaatteeltaan hyväksyttävänä, mutta jossakin määrin ongelmallisena yksilöiden oikeuksien kannalta.
