If You Get Double the Time: Teaching practices in the “Swedish/English” language subject option in Swedish nine-year compulsory schooling

In Swedish nine-year compulsory schooling, all students are supposed to learn English and at least one additional language, i.e., French, Spanish, or German. As a final option, extra Swedish and/or English classes, often called SvEn, are offered for students who choose not to study another language. The activities in SvEn are unregulated: there are no official instructions for the teachers, no set teaching goals (over and above those for regular Swedish and English classes), and no grading criteria, as students choosing SvEn are not graded in this language choice. The aim of this research is to determine the performance of PV panels, wind turbines, battery storage and power imported from the grid to the system which will ensure a reliable energy supply, as well as the technical feasibility of a smart microgrid system. Embryonic development of corkwing wrasse, Symphodus melops

Master's thesis Aquatic Ecology BIO500 - University of Agder 2016 Eggs from corkwing wrasse, Symphodus melops were described, photographed and illustrated to characterise the embryonic development of this species. Egg development was divided into 8 stages from fertilisation until hatching with descriptions of key features for each stage. The rate of development in corkwing wrasse eggs at temperatures commonly found along the Norwegian coast (12, 15 and 18 C) was also investigated. Climate Change Mitigation Potentials of Carbon Labels in the Aviation Industry

This chapter discusses the climate change mitigation potentials of carbon labels in the aviation industry. As this study shows, there are significant differences in the environmental performance of individual flights, even when operated on the same route or by the same airline. Selecting one flight over another can significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of a single air passenger. Nevertheless, the currently available measures, such as carbon calculators, are not capable of presenting these differences, leaving air passengers with no means of comparing individual flights.
