Designing for virtual mobility: Potentials and caveats

This paper reflects on the joint pilot development and implementation of an international master level online course in Educational Design by three universities from different European countries. The pilot targeted curriculum internationalization and provision of international learning experiences to students with less mobility opportunities through online learning and use of technology. Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt modificējošo iespraudumu lomu ‘Lifestyle’ saziņu grāmatu kontekstā. Teorētiskā pētniecība ir veltīta modificējošo iespraudumu koncepcijas teorijām un saziņas valodas prasmēm. Pielietotā pētījuma metode ir diskursa analīze. Modificējošie iespraudumi tika analizēti frekvences, vispārējās klasifikācijas, veikto funkciju un kopējo efektu izteiksmē. Rezultāti pierādīja ka modificējošo iespraudumu frekvence saziņu grāmatās ir atkarīga no valodas līmeņa un autentiskiem tekstiem, kuriem ir augsta modificējošo iespraudumu frekvence. Virtual exchange is an online form of internationalization at home. Students from different countries collaborate in small, international groups on tasks joined by a common theme. They combine their expertise when solving problems together. The teachers act as mentors, providing facilitation and support for the students during the virtual exchange. AbstractThis paper studies what goals individuals pursue when enrolling in doctoral studies and how it affects the characteristics of the university they find important for choosing it and information sources on doctoral programme they find useful. It uses data collected in 2014 from PhD students and PhD candidates in 14 universities in Latvia and from students born in Latvia but studying abroad.
