Slimības uztveres saistība ar subjektīvo labklājību un sociālo atbalstu cilvēkiem ar artrītu
2021
Bakalaura darba mērķis bija izpētīt slimības uztveres saistību ar subjektīvās labklājības rādītājiem cilvēkiem ar artrītu. Kā viens no subjektīvo labklājību ietekmējošiem faktoriem šai darbā izcelts saslimšanas fakts, kas slimības uztveres (perception of illness) kontekstā skatīts gan no simptomu parādīšanās, diagnozes uzstādīšanas, gan kā adaptēšanās slimības ietekmes sfērām. Tika izmantotas apmierinātības ar dzīvi skala (Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS); Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985), slimības uztveres skala (Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (Brief IPQ); Weinman, Broadbent, Main, Petrie, 2006) un atbalsta novērtēšanas skala. Smoking habit and labial microcirculation
2004
Smoking habit is an important risk factor in oral diseases. In the last years, many studies tried to evaluate smoking effects on the microcirculation. It had never been used such a simple not invasive technique, like the video-capillaroscopic one. The aim of the research is to analyse “in vivo”, the microcirculation labial characteristics, and to evaluate the smoking effects by means of computerised videocapillaroscopy techniques. 35 healthy no-smoker patients and 35 healthy smoker patients were examined. The characteristics of the microcirculation in the areas of labial mucous were examined using computerised videomicroscopic techniques. For each patient we evaluated the visibility, the co…
How to get things done in social virtual reality : A study of team cohesion in social virtual reality–enabled teams
2022
Social virtual reality (SVR) enables teams to operate in a virtual environment that simulates and enhances real-world interactions. However, there is an absence of empirical analysis of how SVR can affect the performance of virtual teams. This paper documents how SVR affects the formation of team cohesion (i.e., task cohesion and social cohesion), which is a critical success factor for team performance. To address this gap in the research, we conducted a qualitative study by interviewing 20 members from virtual teams assigned to perform a challenging collaborative task in SVR. As a contribution, our study identifies five primary affordances and 11 sub-affordances for team cohesion in SVR. W…
Prior Experience and Student Satisfaction with E-Tandem Language Learning of Spanish and English
2018
Recent literature in the field of foreign language learning has indicated that classroom learning is not necessarily enough for students to acquire proficiency in a foreign language. Learners who achieve a high level in the target language often combine work in the classroom with activities outside it. At the same time, a number of studies indicate that, when foreign language learners do work with their target language beyond the classroom, it is often to practice the receptive skills of reading and listening as opposed to the productive ones of speaking and writing. For this reason, students at The College of New Jersey in the United States and Universidad de Alcalá in Spain were paired up…

Los resultados muestran que la formación está asociada al enriquecimiento de la actividad, sobretodo si los trabajadores pert…
