A continuous time tug-of-war game for parabolic $p(x,t)$-Laplace type equations

We formulate a stochastic differential game in continuous time that represents the unique viscosity solution to a terminal value problem for a parabolic partial differential equation involving the normalized $p(x,t)$-Laplace operator. Our game is formulated in a way that covers the full range $1<p(x,t)<\infty$. Furthermore, we prove the uniqueness of viscosity solutions to our equation in the whole space under suitable assumptions.

This study explores the relationship between primary school physical education and physical activity as sites for the practice of physical activity of Irish primary school children. Understanding how children make connections between physical activity sites is important in shaping physical education experiences that promote lifelong participation. Abstract Fluorescence microscopy has recently been proven to be an ideal tool to investigated the specific interaction of phospholipase A 2 with oriented substrate monolayers. Using a dual labeling technique, it could be shown that phospholipase A 2 can specifically attack and hydrolyze solid analogous l -α-DPPC domains. Comparison of quantitative Holocene temperature reconstructions using multiple proxies from a northern boreal lake

Four biotic proxies (plant macrofossils, pollen, chironomids and diatoms) are employed to quantitatively reconstruct variations in mean July air temperatures ( Tjul) at Lake Loitsana (northern Finland) during the Holocene. The aim is to evaluate the robustness and biases in these temperature reconstructions and to compare the timing of highest Tjul in the individual reconstructions. Seasonal human coronaviruses (HCoVs) cause respiratory infections, especially in children. Currently, the knowledge on early childhood seasonal coronavirus infections and the duration of antibody levels following the first infections is limited. Here we analyzed serological follow-up samples to estimate the rate of primary infection and reinfection(s) caused by seasonal coronaviruses in early childhood. Serum specimens were collected from 140 children at ages of 13, 24, and 36 months (1, 2, and 3 years), and IgG antibody levels against recombinant HCoV nucleoproteins (N) were measured by enzyme immunoassay (EIA). Pro gradu-tutkielmassa kartoitetaan, millaisia alkoholirikoksia Mikkelin seudulla tehtiin ja miksi, kuten myös miten näitä rikoksia kontrolloitiin ja valvottiin vuosina 1895–1905. Tarkemmiksi tutkimuskohteiksi on rajattu kolme eniten oikeuksissa näkynyttä rikosta: viinan salapolttaminen, laiton myyminen sekä juopuminen julkisella alueella. Pääasiallisina lähteinä tutkimuksessa on käytetty rikoshistoriassa keskeisiä oikeusistuinten pöytäkirjoja sekä näiden tukena aikalaissanomalehtiä. Nopean rakentamisen vuosina standardisoitu elementtirakentaminen korvasi kaupunkien paikalliseen rakennusperinteeseen perustuneen rakennuskannan, minkä tuloksena kaupunkikeskustat ympäri Suomen alkoivat muistuttaa toisiaan.
