The respiratory gas values of the fetal and maternal blood in cartesian nomograms

Respiratory gas values of maternal and fetal blood taken at delivery are represented in two Cartesian nomograms. They are based on data, published by vogel, fischer und thews (1965) and Fischer, Vogel und Thews (1965). The nomograms depict the interdependence of O2 pressure, O2 content, CO2 pressure and CO2 content, established by the O2 and CO2 dissociation curves, as well as by the Bohr effect and the Haldane effect. If two of the values are known, the remaining ones can be read from the nomograms.

Este texto visa a explorar uma faceta do funcionamento do sistema escolar que permite associar a implementação de políticas públicas, no caso, a distribuição dos professores pelas escolas e salas de aula, e à avaliação dos impactos dessa distribuição do ponto de vista da busca por maior igualdade de oportunidades. Mechanical unfolding pathway of a model β-peptide foldamer.

Foldamers constructed from oligomers of β-peptides form stable secondary helix structures already for small chain lengths, which makes them ideal candidates for the investigation of the (un)folding of polypeptides. Here, the results of molecular simulations of the mechanical unfolding of a β-heptapeptide in methanol solvent revealing the detailed unfolding pathway are reported. The unfolding process is shown to proceed via a stable intermediate even for such a small system. This multidisciplinary research focuses on diagnostic investigations to characterize the archaeological materials, as well as the alteration and degradation forms detected at the Roman Thermae of Reggio Calabria (Calabria, South Italy) site. The thermal complex, (dating I–II century B.C.), was built around three main rooms such as the caldarium (hot bath), the tepidarium (warm bath) and the frigidarium (cold bath), all connected to a central room through several entrances.
