The role of executive function in social competence and behavioral problems in the last year of preschool

Diverse studies have found a relationship between executive function, behavioral problems and social competence. However, until this moment, few studies have investigated the role of the distinct components of executive function in social competence, or in the most frequently encountered behavioral problems in childhood education. For this reason, the principal objective of this article is to evaluate the relation of the exec-utive functions with behavioral problems and social competence in infancy. Pašnovērtētie panikas simptomi un uztvertā ģimenes psiholoģiskā vide pusaudžiem ar bērnības vardarbības pieredzi

Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt, vai pašnovērtētiem panikas simptomiem ir saistības ar bērnības vardarbības pieredzi un vai panikas simptomu izteiktību izskaidro uztvertā ģimenes psiholoģiskā vide. Pētījuma izlasi veidoja 81 pusaudzis, vecumā no 12 līdz 16 gadiem (M=14,9, SD=1,38), 60 meitenes un 21 zēns, kuri internetā anonīmi aizpildīja izveidoto aptauju. Pētījumā tika izmantota Ģimenes klimata skala (Family Environment Scale, FES), Bērnības vardarbības pieredzes aptauja (Childhood Abuse History Questionnaire (CAHQ) un Panikas traucējuma smaguma skala (Panic Disorder Severity Scale). ABSTRACTThis study explores images of childhood by analysing children's pictorial representations and accompanying captions. The focus is on how children together with adults represent childhood in the home and daycare settings in a oneweek diary study. The key analytical tool was framing, which is used to highlight what kinds of images are (re)produced and narrated. Physical activity (PA) and body mass index (BMI) are consistently associated with motor coordination (MC) in children. However, we know very little how BMI in early childhood associates with MC later in childhood. This study investigated associations between BMI in early childhood and BMI, PA, and MC in middle childhood.
