Research shows that gender inequality is still a major issue in academic science, yet academic societies may serve as underappreciated and effective avenues for promoting female leadership. That is, society membership is often self-selective, and board positions are elected (with a high turnover compared to institutions)—these characteristics, among others, may thus create an environment conducive to gender equality. LEADERSHIP STYLES IN SYNCHRONOUS AND ASYNCHRONOUS VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS

A comparison of the effects of transactional and transformational leadership in synchronous and a synchronous online teamwork was conducted. In the study, groups of four participants interacted in online text chat and online text forum in problem solving tasks. The groups were leaded by a confederate who acted as a transactional or a transformational leader. Satisfaction in the interactions and participations communicative styles were assessed. Results indicated that transformational leadership is more satisfying and cognitive and metacognitive style oriented than transactional leadership that is more participative style oriented.

Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tavoitteena oli kartoittaa tunnetyön kuormittavuutta suomalaisella terveydenhuoltoalalla. Työn vaatimusten ja voimavarojen mallia (JD-R) hyödyntäen tutkimme, kuinka tunnetyön kuormittavuus työn vaatimustekijänä ja transformationaalinen johtajuus sekä palvelumotivaatio työn voimavaratekijöinä ovat yhteydessä työuupumukseen. The current study aims to explore team teaching as it is manifested in bilingual interactional patterns in a preschool classroom in Finland. The data was collected in a preschool classroom where a bilingual pedagogy in Finnish (majority language) and Swedish (minority language) was implemented with monolingual Finnishspeaking children. Opiniones y experiencias en el desempeño de la dirección escolar de las mujeres directoras en Andalucía

Este trabajo persigue identificar las opiniones y experiencias ante la dirección escolar de las directoras de centros públicos de Educación Infantil y Primaria en Andalucía. Se realizó un estudio tipo encuesta con una muestra de 206 directoras seleccionada mediante un muestreo polietápico, utilizando el cuestionario para la recogida de información. Los resultados muestran que las directoras tienen mediana edad, una dilatada experiencia profesional y, en su mayoría, están relativamente libres de cargas familiares.
