Valutazione e Ricerca in Psicoterapia Psicodinamica di Gruppo. Avanzamenti

2011

Canonical Extensions of Conditional Probabilities and Compound Conditionals

2022

In this paper we show that the probability of conjunctions and disjunctions of conditionals in a recently introduced framework of Boolean algebras of conditionals are in full agreement with the corresponding operations of conditionals as defined in the approach developed by two of the authors to conditionals as three-valued objects, with betting-based semantics, and specified as suitable random quantities. We do this by first proving that the canonical extension of a full conditional probability on a finite algebra of events to the corresponding algebra of conditionals is compatible with taking subalgebras of events.

Epidemiological dynamics of norovirus GII.4 variant New Orleans 2009.

2015

Norovirus (NoV) is one of the major causes of diarrhoeal disease with epidemic, outbreak and sporadic patterns in humans of all ages worldwide. NoVs of genotype GII.4 cause nearly 80–90 % of all NoV infections in humans. Periodically, some GII.4 strains become predominant, generating major pandemic variants. Retrospective analysis of the GII.4 NoV strains detected in Italy between 2007 and 2013 indicated that the pandemic variant New Orleans 2009 emerged in Italy in the late 2009, became predominant in 2010–2011 and continued to circulate in a sporadic fashion until April 2013. Upon phylogenetic analysis based on the small diagnostic regions A and C, the late New Orleans 2009 NoVs circulati…

The organic carbon derived from sewage sludge as a key parameter determining the fate of trace metals.

2007

8 pages; International audience; In a sandy agricultural soil of south-west of France, continuously cultivated with maize and amended with sewage-sludge over 20 years, the behavior of three trace metals (Cu, Pb, and Zn) was studied during the sludge applications (1974-1993) and after its cessation (1993-1998). Using the delta13C analysis, the dynamics of different sources of organic matter were followed in order to elucidate the influence of the sludge-derived organic matter on the fate of trace metals in the soil and its particle size fractions. This study revealed that sludge-derived organic matter contributed to the formation of macroaggregates through the binding of preexisting microagg…

Assessment of Fatigue Effects Induced by Fast Beam Transients in the IFMIF-DONES Li Target

2020

One of the crucial steps toward the commercial exploitation of fusion energy is the availability of a high-intensity neutron source able to test and qualify structural materials to be used in future fusion power reactors. The International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility-DEMO Oriented NEutron Source (IFMIF-DONES) facility, which is currently being designed within the framework of the EUROfusion Consortium, represents the European effort to develop such a neutron source. It employs a liquid lithium target struck by an accelerated deuteron (D+) beam to produce fusion-like neutrons used to irradiate materials samples. So far, a detailed investigation of the thermomechanical behavior of t…

Nuclear liquid-gas phase transition and supernovae evolution

2004

It is shown that the large density fluctuations appearing at the onset of the first order nuclear liquid-gas phase transition can play an important role in the supernovae evolution. Due to these fluctuations, the neutrino gas may be trapped inside a thin layer of matter near the proto-neutron star surface. The resulting increase of pressure may induce strong particle ejection a few hundred milliseconds after the bounce of the collapse, contributing to the revival of the shock wave. The Hartree-Fock+RPA scheme, with a finite-range nucleon-nucleon effective interaction, is employed to estimate the effects of the neutrino trapping due to the strong density fluctuations, and to discuss qualitat…
