Stable and efficient Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells

2014

On the FON astroplate project accomplishment

2019

The plan for a photographic survey of the northern sky (FON) was proposed at the Golosiiv observatory (Main Astronomical Observatory, NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine) in the late 1970-ies [Pakuliak et al., 2016; Vavilova, 2016; Vavilova et al., 2017]. The last compilation of the final catalog of objects involves 5,700 digitized astroplates of four observatories: MAO NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine) [Andruk et al., 2016], Kitab Astronomical Observatory (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) [Yuldoshev et al., 2017], Gissar Astronomical Observatory (Dushanbe, Tajikistan) [Mullo-Abdolov et al., 2017, 2018], and the observatory in Baldone (Latvia) [Eglitis, 2017]. The consolidated catalog of positions and B-magnit…

Operating Modes of Sandwiched Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells

2011

Light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs) are promising lighting devices in which the redistribution of ionic charges allows for double electronic carrier injection from air-stable electrodes. Uncertainties about the mode of operation are limiting the progress of these devices. Using fast (with respect to the current growth time) but resolutive electrical measurement techniques, the electronic transport mechanism in state-of-the-art sandwiched devices can be monitored as a function of the operation time. The results indicate the formation of doped transport layers adjacent to the electrodes that reduces the extent of the central neutral light-emitting layer where electronic transport is l…

Two are not always better than one: ligand optimisation for long-living light-emitting electrochemical cells

2009

The complex [Ir(ppy)2(dpbpy)][PF6] (Hppy = 2-phenylpyridine, dpbpy = 6,6'-diphenyl-2,2'-bipyridine) has been prepared and evaluated as an electroluminescent component for light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs); the complex exhibits two intramolecular face-to-face π-stacking interactions and long-lived LECs have been constructed; the device characteristics are not significantly improved in comparison to analogous LECs with 6-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridine. Physical activity when riding an electric assisted bicycle

2017

Background: The objectives of the present study were to compare time spent cycling, exercise intensity, and time spent in moderate- (MPA) and vigorous intensity physical activity (VPA) when cycling on an E-bike and a conventional bicycle on two “cycling-to-work” routes with differences in topography, defined as a hilly and a flat route. Methods: Eight adults (23–54 years, two women) cycled outdoors on a conventional bicycle and an E-bike, on a flat (8.2 km) and a hilly (7.1 km) route, resulting in 32 journeys. Duration, elevation, and oxygen consumption were recorded using a portable oxygen analyser with GPS. A maximal cardiorespiratory fitness test was performed on a cycle ergometer. Resti…

Els aplecs «ts» i «dz» en valencià. Una anàlisi des de la teoria de l'optimitat

1995

This article intends to demonstrate that the final form of the clusters /ts/ and /dz/ in the Valencian dialect depends upon the behaviour of a series of universal principles referring to the syllabic structure. The author assumes that such restrictions are ranked on a language particular basis, according to the postulates of Optimality Theory (Prince & Smolensky 1993). Then, the outputs for the alveolar clusters will be the result of applying the constraint hierarchy to the set of possible candidates consistent with every input. The different results of the clusters /ts/ and /dz/ in Valencian, and this dialect' s divergences from other Catalan varieties are explained by the differences …
