Selenium (Se) is an essential micronutrient but toxic when taken in excessive amounts. Therefore, understanding the metabolic processes related to selenium uptake and bacteria-plant interactions coupled with selenium metabolism are of high importance. We cultivated Brassica oleracea with the previously isolated heterotrophic aerobic Se(IV)-reducing Pseudomonas sp. T5-6-I strain to better understand the phenomena of bacteria-mediated Se(IV) reduction on selenium availability to the plants. Metamorphoses of Shamed Bodies : Sexual Violence in Euripides’s Helen

In this paper I explore the connections between shame and embodiment in Euripides’s play Helen. The paper focuses on the play’s underlying theme of sexual violence and rape, and on the descriptions of metamorphoses that the mythological female victims often undergo in the face of rape. In my analysis on shame and embodiment I apply two insights from Giorgio Agamben’s analysis of the phenomenon of victim shame in The Remnants of Auschwitz. These are, first, the definition according to which shame is “to be consigned to what cannot be assumed”—that is, to be consigned to one’s self, being and physical body—and second, the claim that in shame one is affected by one’s own (bodily) passivity. Darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 34 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 19 attēlus, 2 tabulas, 1 pielikumu un 41 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis ir salīdzināt datorizētā testa redzes asuma novērtēšanas stimulu ar standartā pieņemtajiem redzes asuma stimuliem, izvērtējot pūļa efekta ietekmi un redzes asuma slieksni. Pētījumā piedalījās 42 dalībnieki. Redzes asuma novērtēšana ļauj spriest par to vai ir kādas izmaiņas redzes sistēmā, kā viens no faktoriem, kas ietekmē redzes asumu ir pūļa efekts. In combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone (KRd), Carfilzomib has been approved for the treatment of relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) on ASPIRE trial. Efficacy and safety of the triplet are still the object of investigation by many groups to confirm ASPIRE results in the setting of RRMM treated in real-life who don't meet trial restrictive inclusion criteria. Therefore, we report a retrospective multicenter analysis of 600 RRMM patients treated with KRd between December 2015 and December 2018.
