Epidemiología descriptiva de una cohorte con choque femoroacetabular y tratamiento con cirugía artroscópica de cadera

The purpose of the study was to report the clinical epidemiology for patients with symptomatic femoroacetabular impingement undergoing hip arthroscopy. A total of 112 patients were enrolled. In this cohort, femoroacetabular impingement occurred predominantly in young patients, with normal BMI, more male than female, high level of sports activity, duration of symptoms prior to surgery time longer than 12 months, with a pattern of cam type, labrum and acetabular rim injury in arthroscopic procedure.

The authors describe their experience with the SALTER'S and CHIARI'S techniques. 27 osteotomies are reported, with studies about theirs indications (congenital dislocation of the hip, Perthe's Disease), age of realitation roentgenographic signs (C. E. angle of Wiberg, acetabular angle). They also put through proximal femoral varus derotational osteotomy at the same time with the SALTER'S technique. They show sorne details of the technique and conclusions after their clinical experience are reviewed.

Operacion de maquet : resultados e indicaciones

We have reviewed thirty-four patients in what we have realized forty-three operations with Maquet effect (Maquet alone or Maquet plus upper tibial osteotomy), twenty operations made for patellofemoral osteoarthritis, fifteen for patellofemoral osteoarthritis associated to genu varum and, finally, eight operations for chondromalacia patellae or first stage of patellofemoral osteoarthritis. The anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) avulsion fractures are uncommon, caused by a sudden contraction of the rectus femoris muscle with hyperextension of the hip and knee flexion. We present the clinical case of a 32-year-old mansuffering from pain in his right hip for several years with a history of a AIIS avulsion fracture in his childhood. He presented pain with flexion and internal rotation of the right hip. Physical examination and imaging tests revealed an extra-articular hip impingement secondary to a malunited fracture of AIIS.
