On March 10, 2015, the mayor of Catania, Enzo Bianco, inaugurated a monumental mausoleum in the city's cemetery to commemorate 17 people who had lost their lives to the Mediterranean the year before. Their corpses were found in the waters around Lampedusa, whose small cemetery, in former mayor Giusi Nicolini's words, could not spatially 'welcome' any more bodies to bury. Tutkimus käsittelee sadutus -menetelmän käyttöä saksan kielellä. Suomessa 1980-luvulla kehitetyn sadutuksen ohje kuuluu seuraavasti: ”Kerro satu (tai tarina). Kirjaan sen juuri niin kuin sen minulle kerrot. Lopuksi luen tarinasi ja voit muuttaa tai korjata sitä mikäli haluat.” Tähän mennessä sadutusta on käytetty lähinnä äidinkielellä, kun taas tässä tutkimuksessa selvitetään sadutuksen mahdollisuuksia vieraan kielen opetuksessa. Rayleigh-instability-driven dewetting of thin Au and Ag films on indium-tin-oxide surface under nanosecond laser irradiations

Investigations have been carried out on laser-beam-induced nanoparticle (NP) formation in thin (5 nm) Au and Ag films on indium-tin-oxide substrate. After the irradiation the films were observed to break-up into NPs through a dewetting mechanism. This mechanism was investigated as a Rayleigh-instability- driven process. In fact, for each used laser fluence, the resulting Au and Ag NPs' mean size and surface-to-surface mean distance were quantified and correlated between them in the framework of the Rayleigh-instability theory showing an excellent agreement. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2013.

Cel pracy. Ocena stanu szkieletu u dzieci i młodzieży z cukrzycą typu 1 przy użyciu ilościowej metody ultradźwiękowej paliczków dłoni. Materiał i metody. W badaniu wzięło udział 152 pacjentów, 82 chłopców i 70 dziewcząt z cukrzycą typu 1, w wieku – średnio: dziewczęta 13,11±2,93, chłopcy 12,89±3,12. Średni czas trwania choroby wynosił u dziewcząt 4,66±2,43, a u chłopców 4,19±2,36 lata. Średnia wartość hemoglobiny glikowanej HbA1c w dniu badania wynosiła w grupie dziewcząt 7,1±1,3%, a w grupie chłopców 7,2±1,2%. Grupę kontrolną stanowiło 219 zdrowych dzieci (121 chłopców i 98 dziewcząt), dobranych pod względem wieku i płci. Do oceny szkieletu użyto aparatu DBM Sonic 1200, który mierzy zależn…
