Cuestionario de descripción de la identidad
2020
This is an idiographic self-report, that is based on previous self-discrepancies measures (Carver, Lawrence & Scheier, 1999; Ferrier & Brewin, 2005; Francis, Boldero & Sambell, 2006; Higgins, Bond, Klein & Strauman, 1986; Kinderman & Bentall, 1996) asks participants to generate 5 attributes they would use to describe the person they actually are (actual-self: describe in five words how you see yourself), would ideally like to be (ideal-self: describe in five words how you would like to be), should be or ought to be (ought-self to be: describe in five words how you should be), fear being or worry about being (feared self: describe in five words the sort of person you would be afraid to becom…
Moral Tension in the Psyche: A Jungian Interpretation of Managers' Moral Experiences
2010
The psyche imbues our behaviour and our moral choices. C.G. Jung placed an archetypal, spiritual self at the centre of the psyche which represents who we really are and evinces fundamental moral potential. This paper proposes that a Jungian framework of morality unravels our understanding of moral experiences by identifying points of moral tension in the psyche. The structure of the psyche is briefly outlined, with a clear emphasis on the morally relevant concepts of the persona, the self and the two-tiered conscience. The second part of the paper introduces a research study led amongst managers with an aim to make sense of their moral experiences. The results are discussed in light of the …

Stress sensitivity of stylolite morphology
2009
International audience; Stylolites are rough surfaces that form by localized stress-induced dissolution. Using a set of limestone rock samples collected at different depths from a vertical section in Cirque de Navacelles (France), we study the influence of the lithostatic stress on the stylolites morphology on the basis of a recent morphogenesis model. We measured the roughness of a series of bedding-parallel stylolites and show that their morphology exhibits a scaling invariance with two self-affine scaling regimes separated by a crossover-length (L) at the millimeter scale consistent with previous studies. The importance of the present contribution is to estimate the stylolite formation s…
Interlinked and integrated research support services
2022
This poster introduces the efficient set of research support services available in University of Jyväskylä’s (JYU) Open Science Centre (OSC). The set includes several essential services for researchers to help them execute an open and responsible research process. The continuous improvement of research support services has led to an interlinked, integrated and harmonious set of technical solutions, processes and workflows which meet the needs of researchers and help them implement open science and FAIR policies in practice. They also save time and enable better working processes for the researchers but also for the experts conducting these services. The poster describes two main services …
Influence of a Thiolate Chemical Layer on GaAs (100) Biofunctionalization: An Original Approach Coupling Atomic Force Microscopy and Mass Spectrometr…
2013
International audience; Widely used in microelectronics and optoelectronics; Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) is a III-V crystal with several interesting properties for microsystem and biosensor applications. Among these; its piezoelectric properties and the ability to directly biofunctionalize the bare surface, offer an opportunity to combine a highly sensitive transducer with a specific bio-interface; which are the two essential parts of a biosensor. To optimize the biorecognition part; it is necessary to control protein coverage and the binding affinity of the protein layer on the GaAs surface. In this paper; we investigate the potential of a specific chemical interface composed of thiolate molec…
Contribution of Molecular Structure to Self-Assembling and Biological Properties of Bifunctional Lipid-Like 4-(
2019
The design of nanoparticle delivery materials possessing biological activities is an attractive strategy for the development of various therapies. In this study, 11 cationic amphiphilic 4-(N-alkylpyridinium)-1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives differing in alkyl chain length and propargyl moiety/ties number and position were selected for the study of their self-assembling properties, evaluation of their cytotoxicity in vitro and toxicity on microorganisms, and the characterisation of their interaction with phospholipids. These lipid-like 1,4-DHPs have been earlier proposed as promising nanocarriers for DNA delivery. We have revealed that the mean diameter of freshly prepared nanoparti…

Temporal control of xyloglucan self-assembly by radiation-induced degradation
2016
Xyloglucan is a natural polysaccharide present as storage material in seeds and structural materials in the primary cells walls of higher plants. Xyloglucan from tamarind seed is composed of B(1,4)-D-glucan backbone, partially substituted by a-(1,6)-linked xylose units, some of which are B-D-galactosylated at O-2. In its native form the polymer is water-soluble and forms gel in the presence of moderate amounts of alcohols. When a given fraction of galactosyl residues are removed, the polymer acquires the ability to form gels in aqueous solution at physiological temperatures, a property of great interest for biomedical/pharmaceutical applications. Gelation on increasing temperature can be as…
