Microfluidic Synthesis of Actuating Microparticles from a Thiol-Ene Based Main-Chain Liquid Crystalline Elastomer.

In this article the microfluidic synthesis of strongly actuating particles on the basis of a liquid crystalline main-chain elastomer is presented. The synthesis is carried out in a capillary-based co-flow microreactor by photo-initiated thiol-ene click chemistry of a liquid crystalline monomer mixture. These microparticles exhibit a deformation from a spherical to a rod-like shape during the thermal-initiated phase transition of the liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) at which the particles’ aspect ratio is almost doubled. ResumoO objectivo deste estudo é comparar a capacidade de selamento apical de dois cimentos endodônticos. Foram utilizados trinta e oito dentes monorradiculares e divididos em dois grupos de 15 elementos, de acordo com o cimento utilizado (Grupo A: AH Plus e Grupo B: Tubli-Seal). Foram utilizados oito dentes nos grupos controlo positivo e negativo que não foram obturados (Grupo C). Os canais foram instrumentados pela técnica de crown-down, utilizando as limas Hero Shaper® and Hero 642® (Micro-Mega S.A., Besançon, France) e irrigados com hipoclorito de sódio a 5,25% entre cada instrumento. Cluster-transfer reactions with radioactive beams: A spectroscopic tool for neutron-rich nuclei

An exploratory experiment performed at REX-ISOLDE to investigate cluster-transfer reactions with radioactive beams in inverse kinematics is presented. The aim of the experiment was to test the potential of cluster-transfer reactions at the Coulomb barrier as a mechanism to explore the structure of exotic neutron-rich nuclei. The reactions Li7(Rb98,αxn) and Li7(Rb98,txn) were studied through particle-γ coincidence measurements, and the results are presented in terms of the observed excitation energies and spins. Synthesis and characterization of redox-sensitive polyurethanes based on L-glutathione oxidized and poly(ether ester) triblock copolymers

Abstract Segmented polyurethanes, based on PCL-PEG-PCL copolymers, 1,4-diisocyanatobutane and l -glutathione oxidized, used as chain extender, were synthetized. Three different reactions conditions were investigated using three different copolymers having ɛ-CL/polyethylene glycol molar ratios equal to 12, 24 and 36 and three different reaction conditions.
