Melampolides from Enydra anagallis
2001
The investigation of an Argentine collection of Enydra anagallis afforded sesquiterpene lactones of the melampolide type two of which were previously known. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Fil: Bardon, Alicia del Valle. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. Centro Científico Tecnológico Conicet - Tucumán. Híbridos ibéricos de Helianthemum viscarium (Cistaceae)
2012
Relative Frequencies and Significance of Faecal Coliforms as Indicators Related to Water Temperature
1983
Summary The faecal coliforms at different sites of a hypereutrophic lake near Valencia (Albufera) were identified and their relative amounts established along an annual cycle. Using lauryl tryptose broth at 35°C, followed by incubation at 44.4°C in 2% brilliant green bile, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae are practically the only coliforms present. A positive correlation was found between the water temperature and the relative amount of these two coliforms: K. pneumoniae predominates at high water temperatures, whereas E. coli shows preponderance during the cold period. The role of K. pneumoniae as the only faecal indicator under the circumstances described in the work is emphasiz…
Design of a Low Cost 3D Printable Single-Component Compliant Mechanism for FWMAV’s Wing Actuation
2021
Considering a modern approach to design, one of the viable options for developing innovative projects is the possibility of integrating the effectiveness of the solutions offered by nature and living beings with the latest design methods. With this in mind, the following research exploits the idea of reproducing the natural flexibility inherent in biological structures by combining the advantages of compliant mechanisms with the adaptability of additive manufacturing processes. In the specific, the authors intend to highlight the potential and critical aspects of a possible approach for the application of compliant mechanisms in the development of single-component structures suitable for th…

Photodegradation of Brilliant Green Dye by a Zinc bioMOF and Crystallographic Visualization of Resulting CO2
2021
We present a novel bio-friendly water-stable Zn-based MOF (1), derived from the natural amino acid L-serine, which was able to efficiently photodegrade water solutions of brilliant green dye in only 120 min. The total degradation was followed by UV-Vis spectroscopy and further confirmed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography, revealing the presence of CO2 within its channels. Reusability studies further demonstrate the structural and performance robustness of 1.

Lectotypification of the name Cistus stipulatus, basyonim of Helianthemum stipulatum (Cistaceae)
2015
The typification of the name Cistus stipulatus Forsskål (≡ Helianthemum stipulatum (Forsskål) Christensen) is discussed. The designation of the nomenclatural type is based on an assessment of Forsskål’s original material. The name is lectotypified selecting a specimen from the Herbarium Forsskålii in the National Herbarium Copenhagen at C.
Influence of the addition ofHelianthus tuberosusL. fermented with different lactobacilli on acrylamide content in biscuits
2014
Summary The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of the addition of Helianthus tuberosus L. fermented with different lactobacilli (Lactobacillus sakei KTU05-6, Pediococcus acidilactici KTU05-7 and Pediococcus pentosaceus KTU05-9) on acrylamide content in biscuits. Results of study indicated that submerged fermented Helianthus tuberosus L. tubers had the significantly (P ≤ 0.05) lower pH, higher total titratable acidity and from 1.2 to 1.3 times higher protease and from 1.2 to 2.0 higher alpha-amylase activities compared with treated by solid-state fermentation. The acrylamide content in all biscuit samples enriched with submerged fermented Helianthus tuberosus L. was measured lowe…
Effect of fermented Helianthus tuberosus L. tubers on acrylamide formation and quality properties of wheat bread
2013
Abstract The main focus in this study was to investigate the effects on wheat bread safety and quality due to addition of Helianthus tuberosus L. (JA) tubers, fermented by different lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains (Pediococcus acidilactici KTU05-7, Pediococcus pentosaceus KTU05-8, P. pentosaceus KTU05-9, Lactobacillus sakei KTU05-6, P. pentosaceus KTU05-10). We found experimentally that JA tubers fermented with LAB contained more L(+) than D(−) lactic acid, which resulted in safer products than by spontaneous treatment. The concentrations of biogenic amines in all analysed fermented JA products were far below levels causing a health risk, while the products fermented with LAB contained l…
