Objective The present study strove to distinguish traffic-related glances away from the forward roadway from non-traffic-related glances while assessing the minimum amount of visual information intake necessary for safe driving in particular scenarios. Purpose Exercise and aging may modulate muscle protein homeostasis and autophagy, but few studies examine highly-trained middle-aged or older individuals. This study elucidated the effects of a new long-term training stimulus on markers of muscle autophagy and unfolded protein response (UPR) and on sprint running performance in masters sprinters. Methods Thirty-two male competitive sprinters (aged 40–76 years) were randomly divided into experimental (EX) and control (CTRL) groups. Iemesls ir tā konkurētspējīgās elektroniskās īpašības kā, piemēram, plata aizliegtā zona, augsts caursites spriegums, viegla lādiņnesēju koncentrāciju kontrole un augsta termiskā stabilitāte. Tutkimuksen päätarkoituksena oli pilottitutkimuksen muodossa selvittää, minkälaisia fyysistä rasitusta mittaavia arvoja saadaan vähän liikuntaa harrastavilla naisilla, kun fyysisen rasituksen kuormittuneisuutta ohjaa etukäteen annettu ohjeistus subjektiivisesta tuntemuksesta kolmella eri kuormitustasolla. Objektiivisina mittareina tutkimuksessa käytettiin sykemittaria sekä askelfrekvenssiä. Lisäksi selvitettiin painoindeksin vaikutusta saatuihin arvoihin. Abstract Study aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate if young female skiers meet their energy and macronutrient requirements, and how energy availability (EA) and macronutrient intake affects their performance during an intensive training camp. Material and methods: 19 female cross-country skiers (age 16.7 ± 0.7) filled in 48-hour food and training logs during a 5-day training camp. Fasting concentrations of hemoglobin, leptin, triiodothyronine (T3), insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), and glucose were measured before (PRE) and after (POST) the camp.
