Shakedown analysis for a class of strengthening materials within the framework of gradient plasticity

Abstract The classical shakedown theory is extended to a class of perfectly plastic materials with strengthening effects (Hall–Petch effects). To this aim, a strain gradient plasticity model previously advanced by Polizzotto (2010) is used, whereby a featuring strengthening law provides the strengthening stress, i.e. the increase of the yield strength produced by plastic deformation, as a degree-zero homogeneous second-order differential form in the accumulated plastic strain with associated higher order boundary conditions. Concerning the calculation of the color gamut in a digital camera

Several methods to determine the color gamut of any digital camera are shown. Since an input device is additive, its color triangle was obtained from their spectral sensitivities and it was compared with the theoretical sensors of Ives-Abney-Yule and MacAdam. On the other hand, the RGB digital data of the optimal or MacAdam colors were simulated to transform them into XYZ data according to the colorimetric profile of the digital camera. From this, the MacAdam limits associated to the digital camera are compared with the corresponding ones of the CIE-1931 XYZ standard observer, resulting that our color device has much smaller MacAdam loci than those of the colorimetric standard observer. An algorithm is proposed for the spectral and colorimetric characterization of digital still cameras (DSC) which allows them to be used as tele-colorimeters with CIE-XYZ color output, in cd/m2. The spectral characterization consists in the calculation of the color-matching functions from the previously measured spectral sensitivities. Bioaerosols (microbes, dust and endotoxins) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were determined in the working air of a drum composting plant treating source-separated catering waste. Different composting activities at the Oulu drum composting plant take place in their own units separated by modular design and constructions. Important implication of this is that the control room is a relatively clean working environment and the risk of exposure to harmful factors is low. Si riportano i risultati della verifica sperimentale, condotta in centrifuga geotecnica, sul carico limite, qlim, di fondazioni superficiali poggianti su terreni contenenti un sottile strato orizzontale di bassa resistenza a taglio. La presenza dello straterello influisce fortemente sul meccanismo di rottura del complesso fondazione-terreno e sul valore di qlim. Il qlim si riduce significativamente rispetto al caso di terreno omogeneo in funzione della posizione e della resistenza dello strato e la curva che descrive la variazione di qlim con la profondità dello strato presenta un minimo a tutte le accelerazioni esplorate.
