The liberalization of the communist system in mid-1950s, disillusionment with the policy of the West, fears connected with West German revisionism, and dwindling chances of change in the situation of Central-Eastern Europe contributed to a differentiation of attitudes among the Polish emigrants. The main goal of this article is to show the image of most important Polish political actions in 1989 through the prism of Czechoslovak opinion - forming daily press: Rude pravo and Mlada fronda. The author is focused on the analysis of materials generally connected with the deliberations of the Round Table, as well as the Polish legislative election on 4 June. The #metoo movement reaching academia and Applied Linguistics creates a need for discussion on how we as scholars react to oppressive ideologies and behaviors in our community. However, this is not merely a question of processing cases of sexual harassment and assault. More deeply, we need conversations on who we do and do not know, read, and cite, and how to make our field more epistemologically equitable. Common fixed points in cone metric spaces for $MK$-pairs and $L$-pairs

In this paper we introduce some contractive conditions of Meir-Keeler type for a pair of mappings, called $MK$-$pair$ and $L\textrm{-}pair$, in the framework of cone metric spaces and we prove theorems which assure existence and uniqueness of common fixed points for $MK$-$pairs$ and $L \textrm{-}pairs$. As an application we obtain a result of common fixed point of a $p$-$MK$-pair, a mapping and a multifunction, in complete cone metric spaces. These results extend and generalize well-known comparable results in the literature.

W artykule, w oparciu o nieznane i tym samym niewykorzystywane dotąd przez historyków wspomnienia, przedstawione zostały dzieciństwo i młodość Józefa Wacława Dąbrowskiego, oficera wojska Królestwa Polskiego, dowódcę w randze kapitana i majora oddziałów powstańczych jesienią 1830 – latem 1831 r. Koleje jego losów i kariera wojskowa są tak typowe, jak i odbiegające od znanych i omawianych w literaturze przedmiotu schematów.
