Softening of Silica Filled Styrene-Butadiene Rubber under Uniaxial Cyclic Loading

Stress-strain behaviour of silica filled styrene-butadiene rubber showed strong hysteresis and cyclic softening, while these effects were almost negligible for the neat rubber. Significant Mullins effect occurs between the first and second loading cycles, whereupon samples reach their steady state after four repeated cycles. The degree of softening increases with volume content of silica characterizing the softening effect as a breakdown of the filler-formed microstructure defined by both, specific interactions in the filler associations and between the filler and rubber matrix. Filhan(2010) arvion mukaan hengityssairaudet koskettavat vuosittain miljoonaa suomalaista. Tutkimus tarjoaa vaihtoehdon potilaan omaa vastuuta korostavaan kuntoutukseen. Astmaryhmälle, kaksi lasta ja aikuinen, sekä keuhkoahtaumapotilaalle annettiin 12 viikkoa puhallinsoittimiin painottuvaa musiikkiterapiaa. Hengitysharjoituksia ja puhallinsoittimien soittoa käytettiin hengityselinten vahvistamiseksi musiikin tuodessa harjoitteluun motivaatiota. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) heterozygous mice (BDNF (+/-)) kindle slowly and have a higher seizure threshold. However, BDNF (+/-) mice exhibit reduced cortical inhibition and disrupted balance of excitation/inhibition synaptic transmission. We investigated penicillin-induced focal cortical epileptiform activity and electroencephalogram (EEG) spectral power of BDNF (+/-) mice, by using electrocorticogram (ECoG) recordings. Treacher Collins syndrome (TCS) or Franceschetti syndrome is an autosomal dominant disorder of craniofacial development with variable expressivity. It is named after E Treacher Collins who described the essential components of the condition in 1900. Incidence of this syndrome is approximately 1 in 50,000 live births and it affects both genders equally. It affects structures which are derivatives of the first and second brachial arches. Puhallinsoittimet poikkeavat tekniseltä toteutukseltaan ja soittotekniikaltaan muista soittimista hyvin oleellisesti ja sen myötä niiden nuottikirjoituksen täytyy olla muista poikkeavaa. Tarkastelen taidemusiikissa käytettäviä merkintätapoja ja tuon esille erilaisia näkökulmia niistä. Puhallinnotaatioon liittyy vahvasti transponointi ja transponoidut nuotit ja tarkastelen tutkielmassani erilaisia nuotinnustapoja eri soittimille vireen ja nuottiavaimen suhteen. Onion (Allium cepa L.) is an important bulb crop grown worldwide. Dormancy in bulbous plants is an important physiological state mainly regulated by a complex gene network that determines a stop of vegetative growth during unfavorable seasons. Limited knowledge on the molecular mechanisms that regulate dormancy in onion were available until now. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää tekijöitä, joiden perusteella puhallinsoittajat ovat päätyneet soittamaan pääinstrumenttiaan. Aiempien tutkimusten perusteella useat eri tekijät ohjailevat instrumenttivalintaa, mutta tutkijoiden käsitykset eri soittimiin liitettyjen sukupuolistereotypioiden vaikutuksista ovat yhtenäisimpiä. Näin ollen ne saivat suurehkon painoarvon myös tässä tutkimuksessa. Lisäksi soitinvalinnan taustatekijöitä vertailtiin eri maantieteellisten alueiden näkökulmasta. Frigyes Hidas (1928–2007) oli unkarilainen säveltäjä, muusikko ja kapellimestari. Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan hänen toimintaansa ensisijaisesti säveltäjänä ja lisäksi siihen sisältyy kattava teoslista. Hidasista ei ole aiemmin tehty elämäkerrallista tutkimusta, joten tämä tutkielma toimii tien avaajana sellaiselle. Tutkielmassa aihetta lähestytään paitsi elämäkerrallisen tutkimuksen avulla, myös narratiivisen tutkimuksen ja muistitietotutkimuksen sekä mikrohistorian kautta. Aineisto koostuu pääasiassa haastatteluista, radio-ohjelmien nauhoitteista ja lehtiartikkeleista. Aineistoa on analysoitu paitsi sisällönanalyysin avulla, myös narratiivisen analyysin keinoin.
