2016
Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan luokanopettajien kertomuksia merkittäviksi kokemistaan ammatilliseen kasvuun johtaneista tilanteista eli situaatioista ja pyritään tulkitsemaan niiden kautta syntyneitä opettajuuden oivalluksia. Lisäksi selvitetään, mitkä tekijät yksilön ympäristösuhteessa sekä toimintaympäristössä tukevat luokanopettajien ammatillista kasvua. Tilannekuvaksia tarkastelemalla pyritään myös hahmottamaan luokanopettajien asiantuntijuuden kehittymisen laatua. Luokanopettajien kertomuksista nousseita merkityksiä tarkastellaan alan aiempien tutkimusten, tutkijan tulkintojen ja vastaajien taustatietojen valossa. Merkittävimpiä taustatietoja ovat vastaajien kuvaamat työyhteisöt toimintay…
Finnair competitive advantage through environmental responsibility
2011
Air transportation plays a vital role in many aspects of our every day life. Due to strong growth and the increasing amount of green house gases released, the aviation industry cannot be considered as operating sustainable. To change this all stakeholders of the aviation industry have to act. A special role hereby play the airlines as they can most directly influence the amount of green houses gases released e.g. by operating modern and fuel efficient aircraft. Offering flights that are producing less emissions has its price as e.g. acquiring modern aircraft can be very costly. At the same time competition between airlines is getting continually tougher forcing also established airlines to …

Western Australian students' alcohol consumption and expenditure intentions for Schoolies.
2016
In Australia, the immediate post-school period (known as ‘Schoolies’) is associated with heavy drinking and high levels of alcohol-related harm. This study investigated students’ intended alcohol consumption during Schoolies to inform interventions to reduce alcohol-related harm among this group. Included items related to intended daily alcohol consumption during Schoolies, amount of money intended to be spent on alcohol over the Schoolies period, and past drinking behaviour. On average, participants (n=187) anticipated that they would consume eight standard drinks per day, which is substantially higher than t…
Labour Market Demands, Employability and Authenticity
2021
AbstractFinding employment has been a challenge for young adults in recent years. This is not only due to high unemployment rates, but also because entering working life is more complicated than before. It is no longer just a question of credentials and skills. ‘Employability’ depends on investments in personal capacities: labour market demands in recruitment exceed the capacity of employees’ bodies and minds. This article asks what demands for increasing one’s employability young adults (aged 18–30) experience in relation to their education and working life and how they respond to these ideas, especially to the idea of modifying their minds and bodies—habitus—in order to increase their emp…

2023
Background The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed guidelines for 24-h physical activity (PA), sedentary behaviour and sleep for young children. Lower socioeconomic status (SES) has been linked to a lower likelihood of meeting these guidelines. The study focused on the prevalence of meeting the WHO’s 24-h guidelines on screen time (ST), PA and sleep among 2–6-year-old children, in association with family SES, before COVID-19 outbreak in 2019, and during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 in Finland.
