Automatic EKF tuning for UAS path following in turbulent air

By using two simultaneously working Extended Kalman Filters, a procedure is implemented in order to perform in a fully autonomous way the path following in turbulent air. To guarantee the robustness of the proposed algorithm, an automatic tuning procedure is proposed to determine optimal values of Process and Measurement Noise statistics. Such a procedure is based on both the characteristics of the disturbances and the desired flight path; in particular, a specific performance index is applied to tune filters. HyperIO: A Hypervisor-Based Framework for Secure IO

Malware often attempts to steal input and output through human interface devices to obtain confidential information. We propose to use a thin hypervisor, called “HyperIO”, to realize a secure path between input and output devices using a partial implementation of device drivers. We apply our approach using two security systems built on HyperIO: FireSafe and ClipCrypt. FireSafe is a web browser extension which allows a remote web server to display and receive sensitive user information securely. ClipCrypt enables the user to securely enter and view their confidential information in commodity Windows applications.

GEM-TPC-ilmaisin on kaasutäytteinen hiukkasilmaisin, jolla pystytään mittaaamaan hyvin pieniä sähköisiä signaaleja ja niiden syntypaikkaa ilmaisimessa. Näitä ilmaisimia tullaan tulevaisuudessa käyttämään mm. FAIRtutkimuslaitoksen Super-FRS-nimisessä fragmenttiseparaattorissa. Tässä tutkielmassa analysoin kesällä 2016 GEM-TPC:llä GSI:ssä suoritettuja ilmaisintestimittauksia ROOT-ohjelmiston avulla. Identification of Cysteine Residues in Human Cationic Amino Acid Transporter hCAT-2A That Are Targets for Inhibition by N-Ethylmaleimide

In most cells, cationic amino acids such as l-arginine, l-lysine, and l-ornithine are transported by cationic (CAT) and y(+)L (y(+)LAT) amino acid transporters. In human erythrocytes, the cysteine-modifying agent N-ethylmaleimide (NEM) has been shown to inhibit system y(+) (most likely CAT-1), but not system y(+)L (Devés, R., Angelo, S., and Chávez, P. (1993) J. Physiol. 468, 753-766). We thus wondered if sensitivity to NEM distinguishes generally all CAT and y(+)LAT isoforms. An Indoor and Outdoor Navigation System for Visually Impaired People

In this paper, we present a system that allows visually impaired people to autonomously navigate in an unknown indoor and outdoor environment. The system, explicitly designed for low vision people, can be generalized to other users in an easy way. We assume that special landmarks are posed for helping the users in the localization of pre-defined paths. Our novel approach exploits the use of both the inertial sensors and the camera integrated into the smartphone as sensors.
