Introduction HPC3014 is a Phase 3, open-label study to assess if response to SMV+Peg-IFN/RBV at Week 2 can allow shortening of treatment to 12 weeks, irrespective of baseline and on-treatment factors. As obligate intracellular pathogens, chlamydiae efficiently manipulate host cell processes to ensure their intracellular development. Here we focused on the interaction of chlamydiae with the host cell transcription factor activator protein 1 (AP-1) and its consequence on chlamydial development. The proposed method is developed for distributed-memory architectures through the Message Passing Interface (MPI) paradigm as communication between partitions. The satisfaction of volunteers is an imperative factor in this engagement, and the purpose of this article is to explore individual and organizational determinants of volunteer satisfaction in sports clubs. The aim of this work was to apply flow cytometry in order to assess and compare the viability of freeze-dried entrapped bacteria with an usual technique by quantification by plate count techniques. It also aimed at studying the effect of various cryoprotectants on the viability of an entrapped Bifidobacterium bifidum subjected to freeze-drying to check their ability to be delivered all along the gastro-intestinal tract. Performance evaluation of fuzzy-neural HTTP request distribution for Web clusters

In this paper we present the performance evaluation of our fuzzy-neural HTTP request distribution algorithm called FNRD, which assigns each incoming request to the server in the Web cluster with the quickest expected response time. The fuzzy mechanism is used to estimate the expected response times. A neural-based feedback loop is used for real-time tuning of response time estimates. To evaluate the system, we have developed a detailed simulation and workload model using CSIM19 package. Our simulations show that FNRD can be more effective than its competitors.

In this paper, the effects of two user interface menu structures on a mobile device display, list and grid, are compared in a driving simulation with the measures of visual time-sharing efficiency, visual load, driving performance and secondary task performance. Eighteen participants conducted a set of eight Point-of-Interest (POI) search tasks with the grid- or list-style menus on navigation software during simulated driving. Between-subject analysis revealed that the list-style menu structure supports more efficient and systematic, and thus, safer interaction while driving than the grid-style menu, in terms of time-sharing and total glance time. In order to predict the mean pressure exerted by a vehicle tyre on the soil, in 1984 Plackett suggested measuring the contact area of a tyre on a hard surface. The model proposed by Hallonborg in 1996, based on the “super ellipse theory”, provided the best results in terms of prediction of the tyre-soil contact area. In this study 82 4WD tractors with different power, mass and age of manufacture were surveyed. Relying on their technical features, the contact area of the front and rear tyres of each tractor and, therefore, their pressure on the soil was calculated, in order to assess the attention paid by manufacturers to soil compaction.
