Influencia de la velocidad de nombramiento en el inicio de la lectura

2016

Abstract:The analysis of the cognitive processes that are the basis of reading skill has detected some predictors of the development of phonological-orthographic skills necessary in learning it and has identified the naming speed as a good predictor of deficit related to reading difficulties. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between naming speed and initial learning of literacy through the analysis of aspects such as the influence of the reading habits, age of onset of literacy or participation in specific learning methods as Kumon. The study involved 289 children aged 4 to 6 years. Results showed naming speed correlates with phonological awareness, predicts readin…

Data from: Strategic adjustments in sperm production within and between two island populations of house mice

2013

Sperm production is physiologically costly. Consequently, males are expected to be prudent in their sperm production, and tailor their expenditure according to prevailing social conditions. Differences in sperm production have been found across island populations of house mice that differ in the level of selection from sperm competition. Here, we determined the extent to which these differences represent phenotypic plasticity and/or population divergence in sperm production. We sourced individuals from two populations at the extreme levels of sperm competition, and raised them under common-garden conditions while manipulating the social experience of developing males. Males from the high-sp…

ESRA19-0692 Which preoperative tests before regional anaesthetic procedures?

2019

As we know, any regional anaesthesia technique stays under failure risks. What anaesthetists have to know about the regional block before let the surgeons start after regional anaesthesia? There are few positions which should be confirmed by tests. Firstly, detect the onset of successful sensitive, motor and sympathetic block. Secondly, confirm the correct area of the regional block. Furthermore, the anaesthetist should understand if the regional block performed under deep sedation or general anaesthesia will be effective also after the surgery. What we have to remember and what we need to check for this reason? Pain is subjective phenomenon. Are we determined as dependent on the patient‘s …

Dynamic Force Production Capacities Between Coronary Artery Disease Patients vs. Healthy Participants on a Cycle Ergometer

2020

Background: The force-velocity-power (FVP) profile is used to describe dynamic force production capacities, which is of great interest in training high performance athletes. However, FVP may serve a new additional tool for cardiac rehabilitation (CR) of coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. The aim of this study was to compare the FVP profile between two populations: CAD patients vs. healthy participants (HP). Methods: Twenty-four CAD patients (55.8 ± 7.1 y) and 24 HP (52.4 ± 14.8 y) performed two sprints of 8 s on a Monark cycle ergometer with a resistance corresponding to 0.4 N/kg × body mass for men and 0.3 N/kg × body mass for women. The theoretical maximal force (F 0) and velocity (V…

Blood Pressure Measurement Before and After Intervention

2016

The complexity and the uncertainties about long-term effect of the invasive interventions to treat essential hypertension (HTN) require a precise diagnosis about the real “resistance” to the antihypertensive treatment given, and it is defined when a therapeutic strategy that includes appropriate lifestyle measures plus a diuretic and two other antihypertensive drugs belonging to different classes at adequate doses fails to lower systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) values to <140 and 90 mmHg, respectively. Consequently, in the process of diagnosis and follow-up, blood pressure (BP) measurement is the first step that is not exempt of difficulties due to the variab…

Arterial Stiffness: Effects of Anticancer Drugs Used for Breast Cancer Women

2021

Purpose: It is well known that anticancer drugs used for treating breast cancer can cause cardiac toxicity, and less is known about vascular toxicity. The aim of this study was to assess subclinical vascular effects of anthracyclines and trastuzumab (TRZ) in women treated for breast cancer. Methods: We enrolled 133 female patients with breast cancer undergoing adjuvant treatment with anthracycline-containing chemotherapy (CT) followed by taxane (paclitaxel/docetaxel) + TRZ. Patients underwent a standard echocardiography including measurement of left ventricular ejection fraction and global longitudinal strain at baseline and at follow-up. Vascular toxicity was evaluated by measuring brachial…

Individual Sprint Force-Velocity Profile Adaptations to In-Season Assisted and Resisted Velocity-Based Training in Professional Rugby

2020

We tested the hypothesis that the degree of adaptation to highly focused sprint training at opposite ends of the sprint Force-Velocity (FV) spectrum would be associated with initial sprint FV profile in rugby athletes. Training-induced changes in sprint FV profiles were computed before and after an eight-week in-season resisted or assisted sprint training protocol, including a three-week taper. Professional male rugby players (age: 18.9 &plusmn
