In this study we aimed to assess whether coffee consumption may influence the expression of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the liver. Methods: C57BL/6J mice were fed a 12-week standard diet (SD), high-fat diet (HFD) or HFD plus decaffeinated coffee solution (HFD + coffee). The herbivorous sauropod dinosaurs of the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods were the largest terrestrial animals ever, surpassing the largest herbivorous mammals by an order of magnitude in body mass. Several evolutionary lineages among Sauropoda produced giants with body masses in excess of 50 metric tonnes by conservative estimates. Intriguing studies suggest that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) tend to act in cis with neighboring protein-coding genes. Based on this notion, we assessed whether lncRNAs originate from adjacent genomic regions of selected protein-coding genes, such as early-H2A histone and strim1, that play important functions during development of the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus. Downregulation of H2A expression relies on the sns5 chromatin insulator placed at the 3'-end of H2A. Gordonia sp. SoCg, a Gram positive strain able to grow on long chain n-alkanes1, possess a single copy of alkB2 gene, whose product is required for n-alkane hydroxylation3. An analysis of alkB flanking regions revealed five ORFs which were designed as orf1, rubA3, rubA4, rubB and alkU, according to the sequence 14 homology with that of known alk clusters3. In G. sp.
