On nilpotent Moufang loops with central associators

Abstract In this paper, we investigate Moufang p-loops of nilpotency class at least three for p > 3 . The smallest examples have order p 5 and satisfy the following properties: (1) They are of maximal nilpotency class, (2) their associators lie in the center, and (3) they can be constructed using a general form of the semidirect product of a cyclic group and a group of maximal class. We present some results concerning loops with these properties. As an application, we classify proper Moufang loops of order p 5 , p > 3 , and collect information on their multiplication groups.

Synchronization techniques for power quality instruments

The measurement of voltage characteristics in power systems requires the accurate estimation of the power supply frequency and signal synchronization, even in the presence of disturbances. The authors developed and tested two innovative techniques for instrument synchronization. The first is based on signal spectral analysis techniques performed by means of the Chirp-Z transform analysis. The second is a phase-locked loop (PLL) software based on a time-domain coordinate transformation and an innovative phase-detection technique. A new high accuracy software based resolver-to-digital converter

Tracking resolver-to-digital conversion (R/D converter or simply RDC) has emerged as one of the most robust method for obtaining high resolution position and angular speed information from resolvers. In this paper a low cost software based RDC is presented. The main features are: high accuracy, simple set up, high reliability and stability and good performances. Some experimental results, showing the capabilities of the proposed system, are presented and discussed. An output signal comparison between the proposed RDC and a commercial encoder is also presented.
Matter dependence of the four-loop QCD cusp anomalous dimension: from small angles to all angles

We compute the fermionic contributions to the cusp anomalous dimension in QCD at four loops as an expansion for small cusp angle. As a byproduct we also obtain the respective terms of the four-loop HQET wave function anomalous dimension. Our new results at small angles provide stringent tests of a recent conjecture for the exact angle dependence of the matter terms in the four-loop cusp anomalous dimension. We find that the conjecture does not hold for two of the seven fermionic color structures, but passes all tests for the remaining terms. Subleading Regge limit from a soft anomalous dimension

Wilson lines capture important features of scattering amplitudes, for example soft effects relevant for infrared divergences, and the Regge limit. Beyond the leading power approximation, corrections to the eikonal picture have to be taken into account. In this paper, we study such corrections in a model of massive scattering amplitudes in N = 4 super Yang-Mills, in the planar limit, where the mass is generated through a Higgs mechanism. Using known three-loop analytic expressions for the scattering amplitude, we find that the first power suppressed term has a very simple form, equal to a single power law. Wilson Loop Form Factors: A New Duality

We find a new duality for form factors of lightlike Wilson loops in planar $\mathcal N=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory. The duality maps a form factor involving an $n$-sided lightlike polygonal super-Wilson loop together with $m$ external on-shell states, to the same type of object but with the edges of the Wilson loop and the external states swapping roles. This relation can essentially be seen graphically in Lorentz harmonic chiral (LHC) superspace where it is equivalent to planar graph duality. The present work is devoted to calculation of periodic solutions and bifurcation research in quadratic systems, Lienard system, and non-unimodal one-dimensional discrete maps using modern computational capabilities and symbolic computing packages.In the first chapter the problem of Academician A.N. Kolmogorov on localization and modeling of cycles of quadratic systems is considered. For the investigation of small limit cycles (so-called local 16th Hilbert’s problem) the method of calculation of Lyapunov quantities (or Poincaré-Lyapunov constants) is used. Simulation of PLL with impulse signals in MATLAB: Limitations, hidden oscillations, and pull-in range

The limitations of PLL simulation are demonstrated on an example of phase-locked loop with triangular phase detector characteristic. It is shown that simulation in MatLab may not reveal periodic oscillations (e.g. such as hidden oscillations) and thus may lead to unreliable conclusions on the width of pull-in range.
Trimeric HIV Env provides epitope occlusion mediated by hypervariable loops

AbstractHypervariable loops of HIV-1 Env protein gp120 are speculated to play roles in the conformational transition of Env to the receptor binding-induced metastable state. Structural analysis of full-length Env-based immunogens, containing the entire V2 loop, displayed tighter association between gp120 subunits, resulting in a smaller trimeric diameter than constructs lacking V2. A prominent basal quaternary location of V2 and V3′ that challenges previous reports would facilitate gp41-independent gp120-gp120 interactions and suggests a quaternary mechanism of epitope occlusion facilitated by hypervariable loops.
