Adaptive radiation is considered an important mechanism for the development of new species, but very little is known about the role of thermal adaptation during this process. Background The pathogenesis of idiopathic monomorphic ventricular tachycardia is not clear. We suppose that a lack of balance of the sympathetic system could be involved. Frequency domain analyses of the heart rate can be useful to understand autonomic system balance. Therefore we performed this evaluation on a sample of seven children affected by idiopathic monomorphic ventricular tachycardia. Methods and results We performed a Holter recording for palpitations on all the children, with an average age of 12 (range: 7-18 years). The paper presents results of phytosociological researches on rock faces vegetation of Pamir Alai Mountains. In total, 182 phytosociological relevés were made during the field studies conducted in 2006–2012, applaying the Braun-Blanquet method. Plant communities of calcareous firm rock faces and small fissures, inhabiting mainly the alpine and subnival zone in several ranges (e.g. Zeravshan Mts, Hissar Mts, Hazratishoh Mts, Darvaz Mts, Rushan Mts and Vanch Mts) are herein described for the first time. AbstractThis paper presents the results of research conducted on chasmophytic vegetation occurring within the alpine belt (approx. 1,850–4,000 m a.s.l.) in the eastern part of Middle Asia. We specifically focused on the diversity and syntaxonomy of rock vegetation as well as on environmental variables determining its distribution. Altogether, 242 relevés were sampled in rock fissures, ledges, and clefts during field surveys conducted in 2013–2019. The size of each recorded vegetation plot was 1 m2. Influence of ventral tegmental area (A10 region) on flight behaviour elicited by hypothalamic stimulation in the cat.

The influence of the ventral tegmental area (VTA) (dopaminergic A10 group neurons) on flight behaviour, induced by hypothalamic stimulation, was studied in the cat. Co-stimulation of hypothalamus and VTA (ipsi- or contralateral) induced an increase of the flight latency. Slow-motion analysis of flight behaviour showed that this increase was due to the augmentation of the fixation latency (FL) whereas the upright latency (UL) was not modified. Sulpiride injection (50 mg/kg i.p.) provoked the disappearance of VTA effect without affecting the basal behavioural sequence.
