We studied endometrial thickness and homogeneity in 36 patients with postmenopausal bleeding using three-dimensional ultrasound following distention of the uterine cavity with a sterile saline solution (3D-SHSG). Results with 3D-SHSG were compared with findings using transvaginal sonography, transvaginal sonohysterography, transvaginal color Doppler, and hysteroscopy. Sixteen patients (including three on tamoxifen) were undergoing hormone therapy at the time when they were studied. Visualization of the uterine cavity and of endometrial thickness was better with 3D-SHSG than with any of the other ultrasound techniques. Mentālās rotācijas tests noguruma apstākļos

Maģistra darbs uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 44 lappusēm. Darba mērķis: izpētīt, vai mentālās rotācijas spēju ietekmē nogurums. Metodika: Mentālās rotācijas novērtēšanai izmantojām speciāli izveidotu testu, kas sastāvēja no 256 figūru pāriem: 128 bija divdimensionāli un 128 bija trīsdimensionāli figūru pāri. Uz ekrāna parādoties figūru pārim, pētījuma dalībniekam bija jānovērtē vai abas figūras ir līdzīgas (tikai tās varēja būt pagrieztas) vai tās ir kā spoguļattēls viena otrai. Rezultāti un secinājumi: Pēc subjektīva dalībnieku noguruma novērtējuma, netika pierādīts, ka mentālo rotāciju ietekmē nogurums, taču testa izpildes laiku iespaidoja tas, cik ilgs laiks pagājis kopš pamošanās brīža …

This article is the first presentation of the excavation results following the developer-led archaeological project carried out between July and August 2012 at the site of Bel-Air, Sénas, Bouches-du-Rhône. Our current understanding of the diverse archaeological remains show that a densely occupied settlement existed within a relatively short-lived period during the second phase of the Late Neolithic in Provence, between 2880 and 2490 BC. The occupation is characterised by several phases of activity, which are at this stage of research, difficult to refine, but all of them being associated with the Couronnien group.

The combustion of black liquor (BL) in a recovery boiler is a central process in a kraft pulp mill for recovering the cooking chemicals and for producing heat and power. This work explored the most important combustion behavior of BL, the swelling of in-flight droplets, from the viewpoint of liquor composition. Briežu dzimtas pārnadžu barošanās paradumi veido mežu ainavu, kā arī tieši ietekmē mežsaimniecisko iznākumu. Maģistra darbā “Detalizēta pieeja briežu dzimtas (Cervidae) pārnadžu ziemas barošanās izvēli ietekmējošo faktoru izpētei priežu jaunaudzēs” apkopoti divu gadu dati par briežu dzimtas dzīvnieku barošanās raksturu divās priežu jaunaudzēs. Dati ievākti īsi pēc ziemas sezonas beigām, fiksējot svaigas un iepriekšējas barošanās pazīmes koku dzinumiem un mizai. Abos pētījuma gados bojājumu telpiskais sadalījums bija atšķirīgs. Iepriekšējās ziemas barošanās izvēle nesakrita ar sekojošās ziemas barošanās izvēli, bet kopumā biežāk barībā tika izvēlēti koki, kuriem redzamas arī senākas dzinumu …

Nel sud della Norvegia, a venticinque chilometri dalla città di Stravenger, in cima a un percorso tortuoso di quattro chilometri, dal fiume Forsand ai fiordi, si eleva un crinale roccioso che guarda il Mare del nord da un’altezza di circa seicento metri. L’altura è formata da uno straordinario costone da cui emerge, come uno sperone, una superficie regolare pianeggiante, conclusa da una parte a forma di pulpito (Pulpit Rock) da cui si può osservare l’immenso e silenzioso paesaggio. Per questo sito straordinario il bando del concorso di idee, proposto dall’Architecture Workshop in Rome, prevedeva la realizzazione di una chiesa temporanea.
