How and Why to Start and Run a SIGCHI Local Chapter

There is a vast and increasing interest towards local HCI communities around the globe and in particular on geographical areas in which HCI has only recently started to gain increasing interest by local industries as well as academic institutions. A SIGCHI Local Chapter is one of the ways a local HCI community can organize and get visibility and support for their activities. However, many active volunteers in this field might not be aware of this possibility. The main goal of the Chapters' SIG in CHI'15 is to inform interested parties of SIGCHI Local Chapters and to find ways in which SIGCHI could better support local HCI communities with their various needs all over the world.

Pārejas metālu halkogenīdu mikrokristālu ultraskaņas eksfoliācija un fotoelektrisko īpašību pētījumi

Darbā tika pētīta un attīstīta metālu halkogenīdu divdimensiju mikrokristālu iegūšanas metode, izmantojot ultraskaņas eksfoliāciju šķidrumā, un no iegūtajiem mikrokristāliem tika izgatavoti un raksturoti fotodetektoru prototipi. Ierīču izveidošanai un raksturošanai tika izmantotas LU CFI pieejamās zinātniskās iekārtas. Darbs sastāv no literatūras apskata un eksperimentālās daļas, kurā aprakstītas izmantotās eksperimentālās metodes un ietverti iegūtie rezultāti. Pētot izveidoto ierīču fotoelektriskās īpašības, tika izdarīti secinājumi par piemērotākajiem materiāliem modernu fotodetektoru izgatavošanai. Maģistra darbā aprakstīts LEAN metodoloģijas izstrādes un ieviešanas projekts Prasību analīzes procesam Uzņēmumā, ar nolūku uzlabot Uzņēmuma sniegumu - vislabākajā veidā apmierināt klienta vajadzības, t.i. sniegt klienta vēlmēm atbilstošu produktu noteiktajos termiņos un kvalitātē. Projekts ir attiecināms uz visām tām Uzņēmuma struktūrvienībām, kas iesaistītas programmatūras risinājumu piegādē. Prasību analīze ir viens no pamatprocesiem veiksmīga programmatūras risinājuma izstrādes procesā. Krimināllikuma 316. pantā ietvertais valsts amatpersonas jēdziens nav skaidrs un precīzs, kas noved pie tiesību normas nepareizas izpratnes. Problēmas sakne ir pārāk plašais iespējamo noziedzīgo nodarījumu subjektu loks, nesakritības ar citiem Latvijas Republikas normatīvajos aktos iekļautajiem valsts amatpersonas jēdzieniem. Understanding Batesian mimicry is a classic problem in evolutionary biology. In Batesian mimicry, a defended species (the model) is mimicked by an undefended species (the mimic). Prior theories have emphasized the role of predator behavior and learning as well as evolution in model-mimic complexes but have not examined the role of population dynamics in potentially governing the relative abundances and even persistence of model-mimic systems.
