Julkinen keskustelu ruotsin opiskelun pakollisuudesta Suomen kouluissa ja oppilaitoksissa on ollut kiivasta pitkään. Erityisesti itäsuomalaisia aihe on puhututtanut viime aikoina paljon. Venäjääkin on ehdotettu opiskeltavaksi ruotsin tilalla Itä-Suomen alueella, koska työnantajat peräänkuuluttavat aiempaa enemmän venäjänkielentaitoista työvoimaa. Combustion behavior of black liquors : droplet swelling and influence of liquor composition

The combustion of black liquor (BL) in a recovery boiler is a central process in a kraft pulp mill for recovering the cooking chemicals and for producing heat and power. This work explored the most important combustion behavior of BL, the swelling of in-flight droplets, from the viewpoint of liquor composition. It also studied the combustion behavior of BL droplets obtained from two biorefining subprocesses (carbonation and hot-water pretreatment, HWP) and sulfur-free pulping alternatives (soda-anthraquinone (AQ) and oxygen-alkali pulping). Understanding politics as a contingent and controversial activity, politicisation refers to those activities that create or make visible the political quality in the phenomena in question. Parliamentarisation is a distinct strategy of politicisation. In this chapter, parliament refers to a certain procedural and institutional ideal type of acting politically. The parliamentary way of politicising acting and thinking forms a Gedankenbild, a mental image. It is an ideal type that one-sidedly accentuates and intensifies the political way of thinking. ADI schemes for valuing European options under the Bates model

This paper is concerned with the adaptation of alternating direction implicit (ADI) time discretization schemes for the numerical solution of partial integro-differential equations (PIDEs) with application to the Bates model in finance. Three different adaptations are formulated and their (von Neumann) stability is analyzed. Ample numerical experiments are provided for the Bates PIDE, illustrating the actual stability and convergence behaviour of the three adaptations. peerReviewed

The purpose of this paper is to present some fixed point theorems for T -weakly isotone increasing mappings which satisfy a generalized nonlinear contractive condition in complete ordered metric spaces. As application, we establish an existence theorem for a solution of some integral equations.
Ion beam intensity and phase space measurement techniques for ion sources.

Ion sources produce beams used in accelerators and other applications. Both development and use of ion sources need beam diagnostics to probe the plasma processes and beam formation for optimization purposes and to produce beam parameters needed for transport tuning. These diagnostics include beam intensity measurements usually carried out with Faraday cups or inductive pickups, magnetic separation, profile measurements with scintillation screens and wires, and phase space measurements with different types of emittance scanners. peerReviewed
