ON AUTOMORPHISMS OF GENERALIZED ALGEBRAIC-GEOMETRY CODES.

2007

Abstract We consider a class of generalized algebraic-geometry codes based on places of the same degree of a fixed algebraic function field over a finite field F / F q . We study automorphisms of such codes which are associated with automorphisms of F / F q .

Static and Dynamic Properties of a n-C100H202 Melt from Molecular Dynamics Simulations

1997

We present in this work results from atomistic molecular dynamics simulations of a n-C100H202 melt. This work represents a first effort to simulate a fully equilibrated ensemble of chains of suffic...

Choosing wisely: Practical considerations on treatment efficacy and safety of asthma in the elderly

2015

The prevalence of asthma in the most advanced ages is similar to that of younger ages. However, the concept that older individuals may suffer from allergic asthma has been largely denied in the past, and a common belief attributes to asthma the definition of "rare" disease. Indeed, asthma in the elderly is often underdiagnosed or diagnosed as COPD, thus leading to undertreatment of improper treatment. This is also due to the heterogeneity of clinical and functional presentations of geriatric asthma, including the partial loss of reversibility and the lower occurrence of the allergic component in this age range. The older asthmatic patients are also characterized the coexistence of comorbid …

Residents'corner February 2014. Editorial: What's new this month?

2014

In this issue of the EJD, two articles shed light on sun-tanning behaviour in southern Europe [1, 2] that will be discussed here. We also critically review an article by Stockfleth et al. [4] who propose the ‘maximum lesion count’ as a new parameter for efficacy assessment of field-directed therapy for actinic keratoses. Last but not least, the publication of Mailhol et al. [5] on food allergies in children with atopic dermatitis will be reviewed.Skin cancer prevention is an important aspect [...]

Cellular stress induces cap-independent alpha-enolase/MBP-1 translation.

2015

AbstractMyc promoter-binding protein-1 (MBP-1) is a shorter protein variant of the glycolytic enzyme alpha-enolase. Although several lines of evidence indicate that MBP-1 acts as a tumor suppressor, the cellular mechanisms and signaling pathways underlying MBP-1 expression still remain largely elusive. To dissect these pathways, we used the SkBr3 breast cancer cell line and non-tumorigenic HEK293T cells ectopically overexpressing alpha-enolase/MBP-1. Here, we demonstrate that induced cell stresses promote MBP-1 expression through the AKT/PERK/eIF2α signaling axis. Our results contribute to shedding light on the molecular mechanisms underlying MBP-1 expression in non-tumorigenic and cancer c…

2014

Phenomenological philosophy of religion (Söderblom, van der Leeuw and Otto at the beginning) stresses the impossibility of a conceptual definition of God and considers the sacred as the very object of religion. The sacred is an oxymoronic reality, because it is at the same time opaque and glaring, in the sense that it escapes an eidetic objectifying intuition, but is felt in the body in an immediate and also upsetting way. As Richard Kearney shows, on the level of feeling through the body subjectivity works on the Otherness, which is the phenomenon of its carnal Erlebnis, activating hermeneutical diacritical operations thanks to the role of imagination and under the condition of confidence …
