Due to their environmental and economical consequences, invasive species are now a major concern. Social wasps are particularly efficient invaders because of their distinctive biology and behavior. L'effet de deux peuplements de nématodes phytoparasites a été étudié en conditions contrôlées sur la croissance du mil (#Pennisetum glaucum$). Les plants de mil (cv. IKMV 8201) ont été cultivés en pots sur du col collecté au Sud du Sénégal dans un champ cultivé (sol cultivé) et dans une jachère de 17 ans (sol de jachère). La moitié du sol de chacun des prélèvements à été stérilisée. Pour compenser l'effet de la stérilisation, six cycles de cultures de mil de deux mois ont été faits avant l'expérimentation. Carmen de Burgos died in 1932, leaving behind a considerable amount of written material: thousands of articles published in different newspapers, essays, novels and hundreds of “novelas cortas”. The works and the memory of this women’s rights activist were doomed to oblivion during Franco’s dictatorship. This thesis aims to rediscover and analyse these works from its various perspectives. We have been looking for the constant trends but also the evolutions. Carmen de Burgos has indeed evolved in her conception of the woman’s role and of the rights she had to acquire. A Strange Case of Left Bowel Ischemia after Right Hernioplasty

We report the first observed case of a young man who suffered of large and unsuspected left bowel ischemia following an elective right open hernioplasty. A 54-year-old man had a 2-year history of right inguinal reducible mass and was admitted to hospital for an elective day case open inguinal hernioplasty for a direct right inguinal hernia. Apart from mild hypertension controlled with ACE inhibitor, he was medically fit and well. The patient was submitted to open tension-free mesh repair with polypropylene preshaped mesh with local infiltration anesthesia and additive sedation with midazolam. Improved locally adaptive least-squares detection of differences in images

We introduce a method for change detection under nonuniform changes of intensity using an improved least-squares method. A locally adaptive normalizing window is correlated with the two images, and a morphological postprocessing is then applied to isolate objects that have been added or removed from the scene. We use a modification of the least-squares solution to get rid of clutter caused by intensity changes that do not satisfy the model assumed for the least-squares solution.
