Fluconazole concentrations in pulmonary tissue and pericardial fluid

In order to investigate the clinical efficacy of the triazole antifungal agent fluconazole (FCA) in the treatment of pulmonary mycosis, in the present study the concentrations of fluconazole in human pulmonary tissue, pericardial fluid and serum were determined at 1, 2, 12 and 13 h after intravenous administration of fluconazole 200 mg. The mean FCA concentrations in the serum were 4.04 mg/l (1 h), 3.82 mg/l (2 h), 2.35 mg/l (12 h) and 2.13 mg/l (13 h). The respective FCA levels in the pulmonary tissue were 4.64 mg/kg, 4.54 mg/kg; 3.50 mg/kg and 3.40 mg/kg and the concentrations in the pericardial fluid were 3.86 mg/l, 3.57 mg/l, 2.35 mg/l and 2.13 mg/l. Although there are several routing protocols for wireless sensor and actor networks (WSAN), none of them have became standard. Now, there are several standard protocols for mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) that have been developed for devices with higher computing features than the sensor nodes. On the other hand, one of the main characteristics of the MANET protocols is their scalability. In this paper, we show the performance of a WSAN, when MANET protocols are used, for several topologies. This Computation Tree Logic (CTL) is widely used to capture compositions of reactive systems. Model checking is particularly well-suited for the automated verification of finite-state systems, both for software and for hardware. A CTL model checker tool allows designers to automatically verify that systems satisfy specifications expressed in the language of CTL logic. In this paper we present a new CTL model checker implemented in client-server paradigm. CTL Designer, the client tool, allows an interactive construction of the CTL models as state-transition graphs. An Intermetallic Au24Ag20 Superatom Nanocluster Stabilized by Labile Ligands

An intermetallic nanocluster containing 44 metal atoms, Au24Ag20(2-SPy)4(PhC≡C)20Cl2, was successfully synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal analysis and density funtional theory computations. The 44 metal atoms in the cluster are arranged as a concentric three-shell Au12@Ag20@Au12 Keplerate structure having a high symmetry. For the first time, the co-presence of three different types of anionic ligands (i.e., phenylalkynyl, 2-pyridylthiolate, and chloride) was revealed on the surface of metal nanoclusters. Pharmacology and safety of tofacitinib in ulcerative colitis.

The use of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors is a new approach in the therapy of inflammatory diseases with immune base. Tofacitinib is one of these inhibitors targeting JAK1 and JAK3, and its efficacy has been demonstrated in the treatment of moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC). It is a small synthetic molecule administered orally, with a fast bioavailability and elimination rate, predictable pharmacokinetics and lack of immunogenicity, which are convenient characteristics for both efficacy and safety. This article reviews the pharmacological characteristics of tofacitinib and its safety profile.
Distributed evolutionary approach to data clustering and modeling

In this article we describe a framework (DEGA-Gen) for the application of distributed genetic algorithms for detection of communities in networks. The framework proposes efficient ways of encoding the network in the chromosomes, greatly optimizing the memory use and computations, resulting in a scalable framework. Different objective functions may be used for producing division of network into communities. The framework is implemented using open source implementation of MapReduce paradigm, Hadoop. With the capability of simulating charge equilibration (QEq), bonds and so on, Reactive force field (ReaxFF) enables the precise simulation of chemical reactions. Compared to the first principle molecular dynamics (FPMD), ReaxFF has far lower requirements on computational resources so that it can achieve higher efficiencies for large-scale simulations. a b s t r a c t A broad area in astronomy focuses on simulating extragalactic objects based on Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) radio-maps. Several algorithms in this scope simulate what would be the observed radio-maps if emitted from a predefined extragalactic object. This work analyzes the performance and scaling of this kind of algorithms on multi-socket, multi-core architectures.
