This study explores the relationship between civic and citizenship factors and the middle proficiency level of students’ civic knowledge in the Baltic countries: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The study uses large scale data from the IEA’s International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS) 2016. According to ICCS 2016, 39% of students from the three Baltic countries and only 26% of students from the Nordic countries had a middle proficiency level of civic knowledge. The high-output NOS II is not only turned on transcriptionally, but the stability of the transcripts and their translation can be regulated dynamically. In addition, the expressional levels of the servoregulatory, low-output enzymes, NOS I and NOS III, can also be adjusted to meet local demand. Workers with vocational education and training need flexible abilities to solve problems in technology-rich work settings. This study builds on Finnish PIAAC data to understand adults' (N?=?4503) skills for solving problems in technology-rich environments. First search for dyons with the full MoEDAL trapping detector in 13 TeV pp collisions

The MoEDAL trapping detector, consists of approximately 800 kg of aluminium volumes. It was exposed during Run-2 of the LHC program to 6.46 fb^-1 of 13 TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHCb interaction point. Evidence for dyons (particles with electric and magnetic charge) captured in the trapping detector was sought by passing the aluminium volumes comprising the detector through a SQUID magnetometer. The presence of a trapped dyon would be signalled by a persistent current induced in the SQUID magnetometer. On the basis of a Drell-Yan production model, we exclude dyons with a magnetic charge ranging up to 5 Dirac charges, and an electric charge up to 200 times the fundamental electric …

MoEDAL is designed to identify new physics in the form of stable or pseudostable highly ionizing particles produced in high-energy Large Hadron Collider (LHC) collisions. Here we update our previous search for magnetic monopoles in Run 2 using the full trapping detector with almost four times more material and almost twice more integrated luminosity. For the first time at the LHC, the data were interpreted in terms of photon-fusion monopole direct production in addition to the Drell-Yan-like mechanism. Background and aim of the work: The Lynch Syndrome (LS) is associated with germline mutations in one of the MisMatch Repair (MMR) genes. Most of germline mutations are point variants, followed by large rearrangements that account to 15-55% of all pathogenic mutations. Many study reporting the frequency of large rearrangements in the MLH1 and MSH2 genes were performed, while, little is known about the contribution of large rearrangements in other MMR genes, as PMS2 and MSH6. Runs of homozygosity (ROH), defined based on long, continuous segments of homozygous SNPs, can be used to estimate both measured and unmeasured recessive genetic variation. A comparison of two indirect methods for estimating average levels of gene flow using microsatellite data.

We compare the performance of Nm estimates based on FST and RST obtained from microsatellite data using simulations of the stepwise mutation model with range constraints in allele size classes. The results of the simulations suggest that the use of microsatellite loci can lead to serious overestimations of Nm, particularly when population sizes are large (N5000) and range constraints are high (K20). The simulations also indicate that, when population sizes are small (N/= 500) and migration rates are moderate (Nm approximately 2), violations to the assumption used to derive the Nm estimators lead to biased results. Iris bismarckiana in Israel and Jordan—New findings and taxonomic remarks

Iris bismarckiana (Iris section Oncocyclus) was found for the first time in the west Gilead in Jordan. This discovery was utilized to shed some light on the taxonomic relationships among the light-colored irises in the Levant. Morphometric quantitative analysis of the Jordanian population compared to I. bismarckiana allies in Israel (I. bismarckiana in the Galilee and I. hermona in the Golan) suggests that the Jordanian population is I. bismarckiana, despite the large distance from the main distribution area.
