Evaluation of the efficacy of low-level laser in improving the symptoms of burning mouth syndrome

Background: Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is common condition that affects menopause women, patients suffer from sever burning sensation. Up to now there is no definitive treatment for this disease. Present study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of low-level laser (LLL) in improving t he symptoms of burning mouth syndrome. Material and Methods: Twenty patients with BMS were enrolled in this study; they were divided in two groups randomly. The aim of our study was to evaluate the described surgical procedures to prevent the development of MRONJ after dentoalveolar surgery in patients receiving bisphosphonates. Multispectral imaging of pigmented and vascular cutaneous malformations: the influence of laser treatment

The paper investigates influence and efficacy of laser therapy on pigmented and vascular cutaneous malformations by multispectral imaging technique. Parameter mapping of skin pigmented and vascular lesions and monitoring of the laser therapy efficacy are performed by multispectral imaging in wavelength range 450-700nm by scanning step - 10nm. Background and Objective The authors investigated the effects of low level laser irradiation on the proliferation rate of human gingival fibroblasts (HGF) in vitro. Laser Welding - Suitable for Vascular Anastomosis?

Carotid arteries of 21 piglets were transsected and reanastomosed either by laser welding (Neodym:YAG laser) or by conventional suture anastomosis. Histological specimens of the anastomoses obtained 2 to 32 days after the operation showed less foreign body reaction and intimal hyperplasia after laser welding than after suturing.
