The present paper analyses spatial distribution of EU financial support for territories, where environmental protection is of high importance, and tests the measuring method based on the t‐statistic of sign frequency in order to apply the R. Fisher function's arcsin transformation. The measuring of EU fund distribution is based on the analysis of sign frequency in sample groups with sign frequency in all the municipalities of Latvia. There are 530 municipalities in Latvia, and in 100 of them environmental protection is of high importance. Intellectual capital (IC) has proven to be under valuated in many countries over the world. This paper provides some evidence that Latvia is not an exception. Author has used the research methods applied in the research on financial sector by the Malaysian, Finnish and Brazilian scientists to provide a view to the issues of IC in Latvian banking sector. Abstract The new charophyte species for Latvia, Chara polyacantha A. Braun, was described. This species was found in Lake Engure, the third largest lake of Latvia. In 2010, C.†polyacantha covered small, approximately 25 m2 patch, growing both in a monodominant stand and mixed with C. tomentosa in the central part of the lake.
Data on medicinal plants in the records of Latvian folk medicine from the 19th century

Abstract The data presented in this article is in support of the research paper “Medicinal plants and their uses recorded in the Archives of Latvian Folklore from the 19th century” [1]. This article provides the list of plant species and disorders treated with medicinal plants mentioned in the records of Latvian folk medicine and used by indigenous people of Latvia in the 19th century. In total, the data include 211 genera belonging to 71 plant families. The accepted scientific names of plant species, plant parts used, dosage forms of herbal medicines, and routes of administration are reported in the table.
