Entrepreneurship Training and Self-Employment among University Graduates
2012
In economies characterized by low labor demand and high rates of youth unemployment, entrepreneurship training has the potential to enable youth to gain skills and create their own jobs. This paper presents experimental evidence on a new entrepreneurship track that provides business training and personalized coaching to university students in Tunisia. Undergraduates in the final year of licence appliquee were given the opportunity to graduate with a business plan instead of following the standard curriculum. This paper relies on randomized assignment of the entrepreneurship track to identify impacts on labor market outcomes one year after graduation. The analysis finds that the entrepreneur…

Perovskite CH3NH3PbI3–XClx Solar Cells. Experimental Study of Initial Degradation Kinetics and Fill Factor Spectral Dependence
2021
The main drawback of the methylammonium lead halide perovskite solar cells is their degradation in ambient atmosphere. To investigate ambient-air-induced cell degradation, spec-tral dependencies of open-circuit voltage (VOC), fill factor (FF) and the power conversion effi-ciency (PCE) have been acquired (for the first time reported in literature). Our custom-made measurement system allowed us to perform measurements of the above-mentioned entities in situ directly in vacuum during and after thermal deposition of the elec-trode. We also studied how these parameters in vacuum changed after cell exposure to ambient air for 85 min (50 nm top electrode) and for 180 min (100 nm top Ag electrode).…

Cost efficient preparation of lead aminoalkoxides directly from lead(II) oxide
2005
Abstract The preparation of lead(II) aminoalkoxides has been demonstrated from the direct reaction of aminoalcohols with lead(II) oxide. The denticity of the aminoalcohols determined the facility of the reactions, the rate increasing with the number of hydroxyls. Thus, [Pb(dmae)2], 1, [Pb(mdea)]∞, 2, and [Pb(teaH)]2, 3 (dmaeH = dimethylaminoethanol, mdeaH2 = N-methyldiethanolamine, and teaH3 = triethanolamine) have been prepared in high yields and characterized by 1H and 13C NMR. The X-ray crystal structure analyses of 2 and 3 are described.
Direct determination of lead in human milk by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry
1999
Abstract Infants are particularly sensitive to the toxic effects of lead. Since milk is their only or main food it is important to know the contribution of milk to lead intake. The purpose of this study was to develop a direct method for determining the lead content of human milk by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry when a deuterium lamp is the only background correction available. The optimum conditions for lead determination in breast milk: sample dilution in Triton ×-100, modifier (75 μg of palladium) and nitric acid contents (2%) and the graphite furnace program (mineralization: 1100°C; atomization: 2300°C) were selected. The analytical parameters are: linearity (20–300 ng m…
Species-Specific GC/ICP-IDMS for Trimethyllead Determinations in Biological and Environmental Samples
2005
An accurate and sensitive species-specific isotope dilution GC/ICPMS method was developed for the determination of trimethyllead (Me3Pb+) in biological and environmental samples. A trimethyllead spike was synthesized from 206Pb-enriched metallic lead by reaction of lead halide with methyllithium and subsequent formation of trimethyllead iodide. The isotopic composition of the spike solution was determined by GC/ICPMS after derivatization with tetraethylborate, and its concentration was determined by reverse isotope dilution analysis. The species-specific GC/ICP-IDMS method was validated by reference material CRM 605 (urban dust) certified for Me3Pb+. The method was also applied to determine…
Enhanced nanoscopy of individual CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals using dielectric sub-micrometric antennas
2020
We demonstrate an efficient, simple, and low-cost approach for enhanced nanoscopy in individual green emitting perovskite (CsPbBr3) nanocrystals via TiO2 dielectric nanoantenna. The observed three- to five-fold emission enhancement is attributed to near-field effects and emission steering promoted by the coupling between the perovskite nanocrystals and the dielectric sub-micrometric antennas. The dark-field scattering configuration is then exploited for surface-enhanced absorption measurements, showing a large increase in detection sensitivity, leading to the detection of individual nanocrystals. Due to the broadband spectral response of the Mie sub-micrometric antennas, the method can be e…
