The client-oriented model of cultural competence in healthcare organizations

2017

ABSTRACTThe paper aims to propose a new model of cultural competence in health organizations based on the paradigm of client orientation. Exploring health information technology implementation success factors: a comparative investigation in Nordic countries

2016

The implementation of health information technology (HIT) can improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. There is a gap in terms of generalising and systematising the results of previous research and in understanding HIT implementation worldwide. The majority of studies on HIT implementation have been conducted in North America, most of which are case studies or other qualitative research. In this research, we surveyed IT managers in Nordic healthcare and used factor analysis to uncover success factor groups. Six groups emerged: culture conducive to change, quality of system and service, collaboration, alignment, end-user involvement, and management commitment. We found that…

Leadership and Uncertainty Management in Politics

2015

Through a range of international case studies from the USA, UK, France, Germany and Italy, this engaging new text examines political leadership and considers the rise in the Executive powers of Western democracies in the last few decades.Unlike earlier assessments of the subject, which have emphasized the importance of a unified force of followers rallying behind a public figure, this volume argues that leadership can also be understood as a risk-taking venture which takes advantage of uncertainty among voters.Assessing the conditions necessary for effective leadership, it emphasizes the part played by indecision and division amongst followers and shows that political leadership can be a ca…

An enabling environment for female leadership in Finnish comprehensive school

2016

Though women account for over one-half of the potential talent known throughout the world, as a group they have been subordinated and their economic, social and environmental contributions go in large part unrecognized. However, the scenario in Finland shows a slightly high level of equality as there are many female leaders in Finland. Global Gender Gap Report 2013 p. 9.
