A generic model of reinforcement learning combined with macroscopic cellular automata to simulate land use change

Better understanding the evolution of land cover is a priority concern in the field of land use change study. This evolution can be the result of interactions between major factors. The study of land use change is included in territorial planning to inform planners and policy makers of possible developments they will face. Land use models are useful for reasonable land use management to optimize future land management decisions. In this paper we present an original theoretical model of reinforcement learning combined with macroscopic cellular automata to simulate land use change.

This chapter draws upon some of the main results of two Finnish nationwide case studies on how common efforts of education providers and organizations’ personnel support VET (vocational education and training) students along their individual learning paths. SMEs' heterogeneity at the extensive margin and within the intensive margin of trade

In this paper, we contribute to the literature on firm-heterogeneity and trade, by looking not only at the firm-level determinants of trade participation (i.e. extensive margin) but also at differences between firms with different levels of trade intensity (i.e. intensive margin). Further, we compare firms that are born ‘local’ and display different scales of international exposure to firms that are born ‘global’, i.e. access international markets soon after their birth.
