Agreements regarding the property relations of transnational couples and their effects under the application of the twin regulations
2021
It is a true and verifiable fact that the family institution has evolved over recent decades in Europe and throughout the world, but not uniformly or at the same time. This is because it is influenced by social and cultural connotations specific to each State. All of which are respected under EU Regulations 2016/1103 and 2016/1104. This work analyses the Twins Regulations, that gives the couples the possibility of choosing the jurisdiction (art. 7) and applicable legal system underpinning the property consequences of the marriage and registered partnerships (art. 22.1). However, we try to show you these rules absolute freedom of choice is not granted to the parties, because this freedom is …
Analysis of Contact Traces of Cannabis by In-Tube Solid-Phase Microextraction Coupled to Nanoliquid Chromatography
2018
Because of its inherent qualities, in-tube solid-phase microextraction (IT-SPME) coupled on-line to nanoliquid chromatography (nanoLC) can be a very powerful tool to address the new challenges of analytical laboratories such as the analysis of traces of complex samples. This is the case of the detection of contact traces of drugs, especially cannabis. The main difficulties encountered in the analysis of traces of cannabis plants on surfaces are the low amount of sample available (typically <
Familismo amorale, modelli culturali e azione razionale
2008
2023
The book examines the development of legal causation in Italy from the fourteenth to the seventeenth centuries, focusing especially on practice-oriented literature (decisiones and consilia). Causality began to be discussed from the late thirteenth century and especially during the first half of the fourteenth, when it was described as ordinatio. In private law, ordinatio remained the standard approach to causation during the entire early modern period: centuries of legal practice mainly refined its scope but did not change its core. By contrast, its application in criminal law would increasingly clash with the intentionality requirement, and so it was progressively challenged.

The decision to change the CEO is one of the most important decisions of the Board of Directors in a company. An exploratory, empirical study concerning nine CEO dismissal processes is conducted based on open-ended interviews with seven Chairpersons of the Board. The findings shed light on the issues that impact the relationship between poor company performance and CEO dismissal. In particular, the results increase understanding of t…
Temporal fatty acid profiles of human decomposition fluid in soil
2017
Abstract We studied the changes in concentration and relative abundance of human-derived fatty acids (FAs) in soil over a period of one year. The study is based on analysis of soil underneath a human body that lay on the soil surface for 18 days before it was discovered. Soil samples were taken when the body was removed, and also 358 days later. Large amounts of the total FA concentration at the start of the measurement period were still present one year after the removal of the body. The FA profile suggested that extensive saturated FA reduction occurred during the first 18 days after deposition. 10-Hydroxystearic acid and FA salts, which are characteristic of adipocere, were abundant in a…
