Typification and taxonomic remarks on five species names in Cytisus (Fabaceae)

This paper deals with the typification and taxonomy of five Mediterranean Cytisus species. Cytisus affinis, C. candidus, and C. spinescens nom. illeg., non Sieber ex Spreng. were described from Sicily by Karel Bořivoj Presl, Cytisus spinescens was described from Apulia (southern Italy) by Curt Polycarp Joachim Sprengel, and C. villosus was described from southern France by Pierre André Pourret (1788). Lectotypes are here designated for Presl and Sprengel’s names. A neotype is designated for C. villosus. The taxonomic revision of these five names confirmed that C. villosus Pourr. Effect of pea proteins extraction and vicilin/legumin fractionation on the phase behavior in admixture with alginate

Abstract Soluble and natural mixed pea proteins (PP) were extracted from defatted pea seeds according to acidic precipitation (PPP) or ultrafiltration/diafiltration (PPDF) procedures. The isolates contained proteins with a low level of denaturation. Mixed pea globulins isolates presented quite similar solubility and thermal profiles, also a similar polypeptide composition. Vicilin/convicilin 7S (Vic) and legumin 11S (Leg) fractions were obtained by batch chromatography using a salt gradient for the elution. Little is known about factors that affect the indigenous populations of rhizobia in soils. We compared the abundance, diversity and genetic structure of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viciae populations in soils under different crop managements, i.e., wheat and maize monocultures, crop rotation, and permanent grassland. Twenty-seven new Rhizobium isolates were obtained from root nodules of wild and crop legumes belonging to the genera Vicia, Lathyrus and Pisum from different agroecological areas in central and southern Italy. A polyphasic approach including phenotypic and genotypic techniques was used to study their diversity and their relationships with other biovars and species of rhizobia. ABSTRACT Populations of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viciae were sampled from two bulk soils, rhizosphere, and nodules of host legumes, fava bean ( Vicia faba ) and pea ( Pisum sativum ) grown in the same soils. Native-state pea albumin and globulin behavior upon transglutaminase treatment

International audience; The behavior of pea albumin (Alb) and globulin (Glob) in their native state upon microbial transglutaminase (MTGase) treatment was studied. Only Glob was able to form a gel, at up to a 10% (w/w) concentration, with a minimum gelling concentration of 6% (w/w), and with a cross-linking degree of 25%. The most affected Glob subunits were convicilin (71 kDa), vicilins (55, 50, and 35 kDa), and legumin acidic subunit (40 kDa). In contrast, the legumin basic subunit (20 kDa) and vicilins of molecular weight less than 20 kDa remained mostly intact in all studied conditions.
