Il contributo riesamina, alla luce di un'attenta rilettura dei dati documentari, il rapporto professionale esistente tra l'architetto Giacomo Amato e lo stuccatore Giacomo Serpotta nella Palermo tra Sei Settecento. I documenti sono rivelatori di prassi in atto e in definitiva i ruoli e le competenze delle due personalità artistiche appaiono differenti e disegnano rapporti di collaborazione mai paritaria. La realtà che sembra trasparire è che l'architetto e lo stuccatore possedessero un'interpretazione molto diversa del progetto e del proprio mestiere.

The diabetic cataract: an unusual presentation in a young subject: case report.

This case report concerns a 14-year-old female patient, whose insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus was displayed by one infrequent complication, the cataract. This is an unusual manifestation in a 14-year-old patient; indeed, there are many findings in experimental animals demonstrating the development of this complication by maintaining blood glucose levels above 12 mM. After surgical therapy, complete vision was recovered, but we think that an earlier diagnosis and therapy of metabolic derangement of diabetes may have avoided this complication.

Abstract Use of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors (RAASi) in patients with heart failure (HF) and reduced ejection fraction is associated with functional improvement, an increase in perceived quality of life, a reduction in the probability of cardiovascular death, and a decrease in the number of hospitalizations.
