Common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia L.) is known for its high allergenic pollens and by the difficulty to control this invasive plant which make it a problem for public health and is a harmfulness in rural areas. This first work aims to make a feasibility study to verify the proper functioning of selected traps and the correct implementation of specific procedures. Ortokeratoloģijas lēcas dizaina ietekme uz acs aksiālā garuma izmaiņām.

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 59 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 24 attēlus, 3 tabulas un 85 literatūras atsauces. Pētījuma mērķis bija novērtēt miopijas kontroles ortokeratoloģijas lēcu formas un optiskās zonas platuma ietekmi uz miopijas progresijas mazināšanu. Darbā tika analizēti 12 bērnu ar augstu miopijas pakāpi ortokeratoloģijas rezultāti, iegūti kopā no 19 acīm. Tika salīdzinātas acs aksiālā garuma izmaiņas, bērniem nēsājot parastas ortokeratoloģijas lēcas un lietojot specializētās miopijas kontroles ortokeratoloģijas lēcas. Rezultāti parādīja, ka specializētās ortokerotoloģijas lēcas daudz efektīvāk samazina acs aksiālā garuma palielināšanos nekā parastās lēcas. Atslēgas vārdi…
Kontaktlēcu pielietojums redzes asuma uzlabošanai pacientiem ar anizometropijas ambliopiju

Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 25 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 9 attēlus, 1 tabulu, 21 atsauci uz literatūras avotiem. Darba uzdevums ir novērtēt, vai kontaktlēcu lietošana pozitīvi ietekmē redzes funkcijas anizometropijas ambliopijas gadījumā. Pētījumā piedalījās 16 pacienti (24 – 54 g.v.). Pēc pilnas refrakcijas korekcijas izrakstīšanas katru mēnesi 6 mēnešu laikā tika novērtēts lēcas novietojums, iespējamās lēcas ģeometrijas, redzes asuma un binokularitātes izmaiņas. Visiem pacientiem uzlabojās redzes asums (0,4 ± 0,2, decimālās vienībās), novēroja pirmās pakāpes binokularitātes pazīmes un 11 pacientiem varēja noteikt rupju stereoredzi. Ecological factors are known to affect disease dynamics and even lead to disease emergence. Especially in opportunistic, environmentally transmitted pathogens, the environment may significantly contribute to pathogen virulence. Intensive farming, including aquaculture, has been suggested to create conditions favouring development of highly virulent pathogens. At Finnish fish farms, epidemics caused by opportunistic Flavobacterium columnare have been constantly increasing in their prevalence and severity since the 1980’s. Abstract The essential oil composition of Lantana camara , Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Eriocephalus africanus was analyzed by means of GC and GC–MS and bioassayed in order to determine their activity against Amaranthus hybridus and Portulaca oleracea . E. camaldulensis essential oil, with spathulenol as the main compound, was the most effective, completely inhibiting germination and seedling growth on both weeds. The essential oil of E. africanus , rich in artemisia ketone, showed activity similar to that of E. camaldulensis on A. hybridus , but it was not so effective against P. oleracea , and L. camara essential oil, with high percentages in sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, also showed higher…
