Factors and information sources influencing students' consumer behaviour: a case study at an Italian public university

This article examines the factors and the preferred sources of information that influence prospective Italian students' choice of a Department of Business and Economics at a public university. Results, based on quantitative survey data, show that both future undergraduate and future postgraduate students value the reputation of the university, the guidance services offered by the institution and the degree of specialisation as important factors that drive their choice, and peers' suggestions are the most relevant information source for both groups. Three artists in exile focuses on the historical diaspora provoked by the Spanish civil war (1936- 1939), and how it influenced three prominent figures of the cultural scene of that period: the writer and typographer Max Aub Mohrenwitz (Paris, 1903-Ciudad de Mexico, 1972); the architect Félix Candela Outeriño (Madrid, 1910-Raleigh, US, 1977); and the artist Josep Renau Berenguer (Valencia, 1907-Berlín, 1982). This paper proposes the use of directional distance functions and Data Envelopment Analysis techniques to assess technical efficiency in the provision of the different stages of the urban water cycle in Andalusia, a Southern European region. Evaluating performance in the management of specific stages of the urban water cycle provides utility managers and regulating authorities with relevant information that may not be detected by more conventional approaches based on assessing performance at utility level. Conspiracy theories arise for virtually any public event (e.g., pandemics, assassinations, disasters). In light of positively correlated endorsements of such beliefs, many have pointed to a more general mindset behind this. Others have argued against this notion of a consistent mindset. Applying Latent Profile Analyses, we examine the evidence for either uniform or differentiated response patterns to various items in five studies (reanalyzed datasets, total N = 7877). Overall, the results speak strongly to uniform reactions that could be summarized as a general mindset, but also revealed important qualifications. The article aims to deepen a fundamental and much debated profile in relation to the special rite of the Italian patteggiamento. In particular, the Author, in the light of an analysis of the undoubted particularities of the judicial mechanism of application of penalty upon request of the parties, intends to focus on the essence and the operation that the judgment rule assumes, respectively, in the ordinary cursus of criminal proceeding and in therevision, trying to offer an interpretative reconstruction that is able to reconcile the (substantial) needs of justice and the (formal) reasons for systematic coherence.
